Cameron Lard highlights.

I think he'll start at some point this year. I'd like to see Jackson, Wigginton, Lewis, Young and Lard as the starters at some point this season.

That would really bode well for the future! 4 FR and a SO starting would set us up for a huge 2018 when Shayok enters the scene.

Really impressed with Lard. More athleticism and ball skills than I expected. Potential is there turn into a Motley type player. Needs 25 more pounds.

Lewis is going to be special. Can't recall a better looking freshman.

he doesn't have the type of build to add 25 lbs. He would have to stop playing 2 hours of bb a day and eat a bunch. He is already in the 220 to 230, which is comparable to most athletic bigs you will see. If he got up to the 250 plus range, he would be more of a banger type rather than run the floor athletic type.

Y Cap City games start up again this Sunday at Valley Southwoods. First game should be the best with 5-0 Doerrfeld Promotions (Solomon Young, Terrence Lewis) taking on 3-2 Hinterland (Donovan Jackson, Matt Tiby). 4:30 tip. Tiby is very physical and aggressive so it should be a good challenge for Solomon.

5:45 game is Hannah Homes (Jacobson) vs. Lions Club (maybe Beverly makes his debut?) and 7pm is Sparta (Shayock, Lard) vs. JayTees (Babb).

I coached Matt Tiby in an AAU/USSSA baseball travel team in Urbandale. Shows what type of coach I am. He excelled in basketball. Great kid and family.

I disagree. He's a 19 year old freshman and I'd imagine has never had stable weight/nutrition program. There is plenty of room for 20 pounds of muscle on that frame. Plenty of athletic rim runners who are more put together than Lard at the moment. He will progress physically throughout his four years here.

I don't think predicting Lard to start is expecting too much out of him. Young beat out Bowie and Holden to get in the starting lineup. I don't think the thought of Lard beating out Brase and Beverly is crazy. I don't know if he'll start right away but at some point I think he does.

It is. Young had more basketball skills than Lard and I don't see them both being on the floor too much together unless Young really becomes a threat from outside. Prohm has said himself that for his first year he just expects Lard to be an effort guy.

Crazy that last year we had one of most experienced teams in college basketball and this winter we could possibly see a lineup of 3 freshman 1 sophomore and 1 senior that was a juco player.

Just for comparison's sake. Baylor's Motley was listed at 230 last year. I think that would be a great weight for Lard to play at. Don't think he needs to get to 240-250.

I show Motley at 238 but that is neither here nor there. Lard has a huge frame. I fully expect he will add another 15-20 pounds of muscle by the time he is an upperclassmen through lifting and simply just maturing.

I don't think Young has better skills than Lard, just different skills. I think Lard brings enough to the table to start. He can run the floor well, is a great ball handler and passer for a guy his size, and is very athletic. As long as he can do what the coaches ask of him defensively, he will see plenty of minutes. Since he hasn't played any organized ball in awhile, his upside is huge.

I'm getting very excited about the year after next.
