Playing at the same time tomorrow as the NFL games doesn't make the most sense to me. Wonder why they didn't play it today before the 2 NFL games?
Yeah when I saw it was Sunday afternoon I thought that was weird. Feel like Friday night would've been a better time. No competition

This tweet provides some explanation with ABC viewership vs ESPN2. However ABC had a good 12-3 window today, but apparently they thought Sunday vs the NFL was the best.

I found this bit of info about this years FCS post season viewership.

The SDSU vs Holy Cross ESPN quarterfinal game finished up an hour or 2 before the Army Navy game and I don't believe it had any other football competition on the air. 2nd highest on the list

The UIW/NDSU ESPN 2 semi-final was a friday night and both bowl games were over by the time it kicked off. 3rd highest on the list.
The Montana ST/SDSU ESPN2 semi-final was a Saturday 3PM kickoff and it had 3-4 bowl games overlapping it in some fashion. Only about half the viewership compared to UIW/NDSU the night before.

Celebration bowl on ABC competed with Fenway bowl starting 1 hour earlier, and the last 45-60 minutes were overlapped by the Las Vegas bowl which was the highest FCS level game this post season.

I'll be curious to see what ABC can pull here tomorrow going up against the NFL compared to previous ESPN2 title games. The possible lone benefit I can see is that a lot of the teams are locked into playoff spots or eliminated. Perhaps some interest is down this week.

I might watch the game, but my interest has diminished with the 3+ week window between the semis and championship game. IMO they should have played on Dec 23 or 24.

SDSU totally dominant. Game was pretty much over anyway but that TD pass sealed it for sure

I actually think South Dakota State wins fairly comfortably. They're much more talented and NDSU is without Luepke.
Good call on this. Many were hesitant to believe this would happen. I wanted to watch their match-up earlier this season, but wasn't able to on ESPN+. With the game not played in the Fargo Dome, and NDSU had it share of injuries this time one should have thought this was possible.

My friend who follows Iowa said SDSU played better that day on the both the lines than the Hawks did in the opener.

SDSU continuing to throw into the middle of the 4th was surprising. Trying to put NDSU in such a hole they can't possibly come back I guess. On the last snap of the game for NDSU, I had a good laugh. They brought 7 after the QB with the game well beyond decided. "Who's their DC? Buddy Ryan?"

Interesting layoff. Perhaps this bodes well for accumulating the most possible amount of fans to travel to the game. Stadium looked full, but this was also the perfect storm with conference rivals filling that stadium.
