The way ISU has looked it might be closer than it seems.

5 losses in a row means you just haven't been very good.

I dunno - Iowa and Iowa State are basically mirror images of one another. Both have top 10 defenses nationally, but the most horrific offenses imaginable. The difference between the two teams at this point in the season? One gets to navigate the Big 12 meatgrinder, while the other gets to participate in the Big 10 W pillow fight.

Yep. Points are points. It wasn’t like it was 4th and short either. Take the points and get within 1 there with an entire quarter plus to play. Just stupid decisions by the Dykes today.

The year TCU got screwed by the committee I was outraged, and still pretty upset. In my opinion they were actually playing the best football in the nation. They objectively had a better resume/sos than Ohio State who took their spot and won it, asterisk on the National Championship that year in my opinion.

I think Tech is gonna win here and I’m actually kind of glad because I don’t know I could go to bat for TCU this year even if they’re unbeaten. I think they have executed the best in a league with a lot of parity. If it’s SEC/SEC/tOSU/TCU it would not be great for the conference because I think they might get stomped, Clemson or Michigan would do better in that fourth spot, I wouldn’t even be upset if it’s 3rd SEC. Will be better off when our league gets auto bid for championship and an at large when a B12 team looks legit dangerous vs this TCU team.

Yeah I think most were anticipating a shootout, and if that was happening then I would get it. But instead points are hard to come by; you have to take them when the opportunity presents itself. They've left 9 points on the board.

I don't think they'd beat Purdue or NW handily and I wouldn't trust them late in a close game against either one. Iowa isn't good but they appear to at least be progressing a bit.

I’m not sure I remember ever watching Tech and being impressed by their defense before today. I mean going back to 90s when they joined.

It’s honestly hard to tell if they are progressing. NW is complete dog **** (yes I know they are actually in it against Ohio State but that’s more weather-related and every team usually gets one game or two they play well). And Purdue’s defense is hot trash.

But yes the Hawks are at least doing what they should be doing to these couple of defenses. Can’t say the same for us against the likes of KU and OU.

Isn't he 42-4 since he got the job? I get he is expected to win a NC soon. But to say he's not the guy at this point seems a little off the mark. You may be right in a few years but I don't think so at this time.

His defenses are very rough. They still can’t run the ball and the moment the weather isn’t perfect his offense collapses. You can’t be OSU and only have a 7 point lead in the 4th over Northwestern. The expectations are simply much higher

Eh, Alabama usually lays a turd every year and they get a pass so I think the same will apply to Ohio State here as long as they win (yes, I know NW is awful).

I don't see how they don't beat Minny, Wisconsin and Nebraska with their punt game and defense.

They will lose at least one of those. 7-5. And that probably keeps Brian around longer which is absolutely glorious for us. The worst case scenario for Iowa fans is to go 7-5 and have to keep that moron.
