This is true for every conference though and Michigan has only been up there the last two years. You can say the same thing about the SEC with bama and Georgia. Outside of the one LSU year it’s only been those two schools dominating. Same thing for Clemson. The only difference is that the big ten isn’t getting the championships currently and Iowa/the west plays a type of football that makes people wonder if life is worth living.

Yeah but it really drops off in the Big 10.

Is Riley kind of stuck there?

There's stability in the job with the new conference and there's good history, and he may not be that appealing for any bigger program that wants to win it all since his programs' achilles heel has been his defense.

He just needs to get a def. coordinator. They have a Heisman caliber QB every year.

Don't underestimate USC. All they need is the right defensive coordinator or staff in general. They have the money, fan base and location (recruiting) to dominate the big 10.
Yes this goes for any blue blood though. And what we are seeing is it’s not as easy to find the right guy. Nebraska is still searching, it’s been a long time since Pete Carroll was in LA, Texas A&M just lol, Florida is longing for the Urban Meyer days, etc.

It seemed like there were a lot of teams fighting for a bowl this week so I checked. By my count 23 5-6 teams are playing this week and a 5-5 navy. I don’t know if it’s parody or mediocrity

It's mediocrity imo.

Lots of teams that don't do any one thing very well.

USC is in Southern California. They can bounce back much faster than the Nebraskas of the world. And Nebraska isn't a blue blood. aTm isn't a blue blood either, so who cares about them? Florida is similar to USC.

When USC gets a whiff of Big 10 teams not named Ohio State or Michigan they will be just fine. And they have the talent to beat Michigan and Ohio State every year.
