Burns had a better year than Young. That's just a fact. Young didn't win a single event. Burns won the match play. Young didn't qualify for the tour championship. Burns finished in the top 5. Young may have more talent but it didn't translate into a better performance.
Burns is the worst ball striker on the team and with the way the course lays out, you need to be able to drive the ball. He’s not good at it. Cam Young is. Burns is buoyed by his better and currently may even have some ball striking yips. Spare me a win 6 months ago. He was picked because he’s Scotties buddy which is just another example of poor leadership by ZJ. Then, he picks JT because he’s the heart and soul of the team, supposedly, but he sits him the first session. I do t know about you guys but I would probably throw my heart and soul out there right away.

I’m not saying any of these decisions change the fact that the US got dog walked but ZJ made some just mind boggling decisions both in terms of data and in terms of subjectivity.

Maybe any of this would have mattered if we were down 1 or 2 points rather than 5. We’re not a cam young away from winning this.

It’s almost like I said that.

The general unpreparedness to play is the worst thing and to be honest, the opening ceremonies last night presented two teams and captains putting off way different vibes.

We’ve lost 6 straight in Europe, are we just always unprepared or is it just harder for us to win over there?

I think that's overhyped. Almost all tournament courses these days have serious rough.

A friend of mine played olympia fields the day after the BMW last month and his group lost balls in the regular rough (with a forecaddie!). That's the same course the day before Hovland shot 61 with a 28 on the back nine.
I was at Medinah in 2012. The first two days were the best and worst spectator experience. 60K fans spread among 4 matches, awesome and horrible simultaneously.

A few years ago I got to play Deere Run the week before the JDC. The rough was fat ass and sweating,.....impossible.

It’s harder. The Euros always set up the course way better for their strengths, they don’t have a team event every year like the president’s cup, and the Europe history was always as the little brother. The current Euro team looks up to the guys that finally stopped US dominance.

Last time the Euros got their pants pulled down so they are out for blood. To borrow from the SEC….it just means more.

When is the last time Young won anything?

Well I think there are a few reasons but one I see as a large problem is they qualify through a lot of PGA Tour golf and Europe makes sure the setup is more penal. I think in Paris there was a lot of dead weight in Tiger and Phil with a bunch of tired guys because the 4 weeks of playoffs were right ahead of it.

I think this team has a few guys that don’t give a **** and they are also guys who don’t have a history of playing well when it gets down to it. Cantlay hasn’t cracked an egg in a major, there’s rumbles that he’s mad they don’t get paid more to play it and I don’t think Schauffle is much different. Brooks has been bad since the PGA. Spieth was awful today. Rickie is an awful RC player. On top of all that when you watch ZJ there’s nothing inspiring there and he’s had no reasoning for any decision he’s made. It’s just a bunch of stuff Europe doesn’t have to deal with. I mean Bob MaxIntyre has been the worst player on either roster most of the year and Rose is dragging him to a half of point.

Who gives a ****? When’s the last time Spieth won anything? Burns won 6 months ago and now he’s grinding in the range after everyone else trying to get rid of a nasty case of the lefts. Rickies RC record absolutely stinks. JT shot 80 in majors three times this year. He fits the course just like Aberg did. I’m fine bringing JT because of his record in RCs and his general ability to be annoying, but you have to put him out here right away if that’s why you’re bringing him.

Again, none of these single things put the US ahead but nothing from the opening presser from ZJ has given me any confidence that he has any clue and isn’t just deferring to the players.

Wins matter. When was the last time the US took a winless player to the Ryder Cup?

Worst US Ryder Cup team in history, this is embarrassing. 9&7 beat down on the world #1 and 5-time major winner (Scheffler/Koepka)? There has to be something going on.

....and now back to your local programming of college and NFL football. After seeing the last few holes yesterday, they should have given the Cup to the Europeans then and we could have avoided the continued embarrassment.
