Is Maccabees the Jewish deli? Been meaning to give them a try
They just hit different when it comes to deli food. When we lived in Columbus we'd hit a place called Katzinger's Deli in German Village just south of downtown and their sandwiches were absolutely unreal. I'm a big egg salad fan and they had probably the best egg salad sandwich I've ever had.

Not a deli but that looks like a tasty snack.

Am I misremembering, or did South Union used to have all the bread and dipping oil you could eat?

They have dipping oil and they offer you a little piece with your order. I think I'd remember if they had all you can eat.

This was probably 10 years ago. I swear they just had a bunch of leftover pieces of bread they put in a small buffet like thing and you could take as much as you wanted.

If I lived closer to Maccabee's I'd never know what the inside of a Hy-Vee looked like.

Yes, I remember that, it was underneath the skywalk, across from Mr. Filet. I assumed people didn't treat that as all you can eat.

Went to Maccabee's Deli for lunch today.

Best Pastrami in DSM it’s not even close. My god I can’t believe I haven’t made it here before. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Since it in involves bread, I thought this thread would be as good as any.

If you're ever in Madison, WI, stop by the farmers market or possibly their store and buy a loaf of Stella's Hot&Spicy Cheese Bread. It's one of the best things I've ever eaten.
