I get Booth being fired because that clown refused to improve the team this year. I don’t know why Malone was fired, but he can thank the worthless MPJ and Murray. Those 2 guys should be all-stars with respect to the money they are getting, especially MPJ.

It’s embarrassing for the Nuggets to be waisting Jokic’s best years with this **** show. I’d be demanding a trade in his place.

I’d say no way. I think Joker have to have signed off on this. Joker is the most important person to that franchise of all time

As a Nuggets fan though, my major concern is he asks for a trade. Or just flat out retires
There is no way Jokic would want to be involved in any of this considering his personality.

I wouldn’t blame him one bit if he asked for a trade. Who wants to be part of this **** show.

It’s been nothing but down since that title. Almost a second apron team, no bench, wasting a top 10 all time talent by putting the worst team in the league around him. That Murray extension is going to be a killer
And the absolutely dumb decision to give MPJ max contract. Should’ve traded him. Hate his game.

The MPJ decision made sense because Denver is not a FA destination and he had shown a TON of potential early in his career. So the best chance to keep him was overpay him early. Unfortunately his back got hurt again and never really developed into that centerpiece he showed the potential to be.

Murray’s contact extension is the killer. After his subpar performance last year, then the Olympics over the summer, they (in hindsight) should have held off on the extension. They didn’t have to do it. Now he has another lousy year and is hurt again and that max extension hasn’t even kicked in yet. Not good.

I’m sure he didn’t pull the strings, but this is the NBA. No way they make this move without consulting the most important person in franchise history first. No way.

Disagree with this. I think Jokic likes Malone a lot, and wants him as his coach. Nuggets owners know this, in which case why ask him about firing Malone if they know Jokic would say no.

I think Kroenke just informed Jokic this was gonna happen but he didn’t ask him if he would be ok with it.

I think more big changes are coming end of season.

The timing seems wild. How bad was it that you can't make it through the last week-ish of the season and one playoff run?

That had to be crazy toxic. They are like 3 years removed from a title and still in 4th in the west.

This is what I was going to say. They have the best player in the world and maybe 3rd/4th all time, in 4th place, they are Murray's health (as always) away from being a championship team.

FWIW I always really like Malone but I can't pretend to know what the locker room is like. I was one of the ISU fans who started following them with Monte and then just couldn't stop watching what Joker does so kind of stayed a fan.

I follow them quite a bit and I've never picked up on bad blood either direction with Malone and Jokic. Of course what coach is going to go to war with a guy who can get you 30/10/10 in a single half frequently, but Jokic always seems to say only great things about him.

I also don’t think there was bad blood and Jokic is not a guy who would push for a move like this. But I do think ownership wanted to make sure he was ok before they did this.

I know they are a small market...but any player at any position should jump at the chance to play with Joker. Open shots everywhere, humble superstar and he's the best passer I've ever seen to get you easy looks, his teammates know they get rewarded for rim running.

They've had a ton of injuries and won a title in the small window where they had none, but you still wonder how many easy roster moves might have already got them a second. The years Monte was there he played heavy minutes in part because he just didn't get hurt.

I don’t get that either. Denver has always had trouble attracting free agents (see my post about MPJ earlier), but it is verifiably proven playing with Jokic makes you a wayyyyy better player.

And yet you never hear players wanting to come here when they request trades (Jimmy Butler, Kevin Durant, Dame Lillard, etc.)

Even a lesser skilled big guy with a motor, he's going to get you 90 foot passes for easy layups. His full court passing is leaps and bounds better than any player I've seen. Only thing comparable is some now pretty old footage I've seen of Pistol Pete.

This does feel like it would be the most Joker thing ever. Both him just being done and hanging with his horses and then the chaos in Denver/NBA would be very Joker terrorizes Gotham / everything is on fire vibes if it happened.

Don't sleep on Kevin Loves outlet passes. Doesn't have joker's full arsenal but threw some great outlets
