I really don’t know of a great comp for Halliburton. About the only recent PG that really made an offense hum like this plus had the ability to shoot has maybe been peak MVP year Steve Nash.

Yeah there are times he seems to “overpass” like Nash but usually it creates an open made 3. You have to combine players. His super long arms are starting to translate to good perimeter defense too, without looking it up I’m sure he’s toward top of playoffs in steals and blocks for guards.

Both tonight and close out game vs Bucks his blocks and steals were just as important in fourth quarter as points and assists.

Houston is gonna be fine. Lots of talent there. Thompson is going to be a menace. Just need to develop some more scoring.
They’ve got a lot of trade pieces. They have 8 first rounders through 2029 and some young prospects in Sheppard and Whitmore who don’t get many minutes, relatively speaking.

I expect them to make a move this summer. Maybe for Durant.

Will be interesting to see what the Suns do this year. Owner seems like he came in thinking this would be easy and he could buy his way to the top. Durant is getting to that age that would make me nervous to count on him for availability for a full season and playoffs. Hopefully Monte gets moved to a good landing place.

Ishbia is a complete clown who clearly didn’t understand the new CBA and the aprons. That franchise is doomed with him at the helm.

If I’m the Rockets I think I’d take a swing at Booker over Durant. That would be a tough pill for Phoenix to swallow, but you give 4 firsts, Jalen Green, Whitmore, and Sheppard. Could be compelling.

That would give the Rockets a starting 5 of Van Vleet, Booker, Brooks, Thompson, and Sengun, plus Eason off the bench. That’s a nasty rotation

Book costs more than he's worth.

Maybe but that seems like an interesting fit on paper. He has been fairly durable and has been a number 1 option. Also younger than a Durant, less sideshow than some other stars. Rockets have the picks to make that appealing to the Suns.

Rockets could make a run at Giannis.
I thought about him too but didn't know enough about the Rockets shooting to know if that would work.

Been talk about the Celtics breaking the team up this summer, I thought due to tax reasons. I would imagine Tatum is untouchable but Kristaps and Brown could have new homes. Guessing Horford retires.

Monte is a free agent now so he can go ‘wherever he wants’

But he’s had a couple rough years with some bad team situations and injury issues. I would bet he gets picked up, but it will probably happen late summer on a 1 year vet min deal and he probably won’t have a ton of choices (similar to how he ended up in phx this season)

Gotcha, for some reason I thought he had a two year deal. Hopefully he can land at a decent franchise but crazy to think he left Detroit for the Suns and the Pistons were the ones in the playoffs.

Wouldn't be shocked if the Celtics moved Holiday, they have an expensive roster.
They could use a cheaper vet like Monte.

Love Monte…. But I thought Holiday is considered a key cog as a defensive stopper and role player, a la Derrick White? Hard to see the Celtics blowing up a successful roster, but I’m no expert….

They will have to move some pieces. Just too much $ tied up.

They need Booker or Durant over Giannis. Thompson is kind of a Giannis clone and is much younger, cheaper, and has a ton of room to grow.

Boston will definitely be moving pieces and shedding salary this offseason. I heard in the BS podcast a couple weeks ago, between the salaries and tax penalties, their roster, as currently constructed, will cost as much as their average annual revenue next year.
