I can't pretend to know jack about gymnastics but isn't Biles in discussion for greatest athlete of all time now when you view the short window for her sport, how demanding it is, and what she's done over a long span?

Not gymnastics but just all sports.

It's a hard to dream up a more dramatic sports story with both her and Lee. There's a lot there beyond just the winning.

Watching Lee step up and hit her routine while the other two in contention for bronze each had major missteps was a cool moment. And then Simone is just Simone.

Simone could have stepped out of bounds once or twice and it wouldn’t have mattered, that’s how difficult her routine was and how much she won by. Says something she went and put up a near flawless performance anyway.

Finally saw the final score. Holy ****. She won by 1.2 points. She was in third after the 2nd rotation.

3X3 hoops is kinda tough for me to get interested in. For most all other Olympic events I feel confident the athletes are the best in the world at what they do.

I suspect there could be thousands of 3X3 teams put together that are better than those competing.

Sorry

If given the time, probably. But you could say that about most sports.

How many sports could LeBron or Steph have dominated with their respective size/strength and skill had they started at it from childhood? Think of all the American football players who could have killed it in gymnastics (just one thing) and they don't have an olympic sport at all.

I do think there's an argument against 3x3 and a lot of other sports of how widely it is played.

And she took the last Olympics (individually) off. But she's still the first repeat gold medalist since the '50s. That's incredible.

I had never really watched Breanna Stewart until this year's sudden WNBA blowup but her length combined with the skill set is such a cheat code. Without even looking it up she has to have one of the best wingspans ever for a player who isn't a below the basket center, it's just obvious.

Put LeBron in soccer right now… he gets smoked… put him in the pool right now he gets smoked… put him on the VB court right now he gets smoked.

Put him in the 3x3 right now… he’d win. That’s my point.

The since childhood argument is irrelevant, although understood.

Her and A'ja are next level, clearly the two best in the league IMO.

She's the WNBA equivalent of KD. When they are on they don't lose.

Boy, I think so. She’s dominated international competition since 2013.

She’s got a good chance for 2 more golds and maybe a silver.
