No doubt. Tiger hit an awesome drive and then flaired one out into the waste area. I get the feeling that there are going to be some really bad scores with the speed and firmness of the greens.

Hell of a shot out of the junk for Tiger, stopping on a dime. Pretty decent putt for birdie. Zalatoris was in the fairway tight to the green and chipped right off the other side of the green.

Anyone else kind of just "meh" about Pinehurst? Don't know what it is but I'm just not a big fan of courses with no water hazards on them.

No one should ever shoot 65 at a US Open and 22 guys (as of right now) under par is way too many.

Even should always be the winning score at an Open.

I honestly just think there's too much talent to ever go back to E being a winning score

I think it's awesome. Native, wispy grasses in natural sand looks a lot better to me than manicured everything.

I like it, unique with the waste areas and natural grasses, the greens are fascinating, drop offs all over.

I agree. If you make it so hard to keep the score around even, I don't believe the best player will win...just the most fortunate/lucky.

These clubs are owned and played on by mortals (golf mortals, anyway). To get a meaningful score near par, the USGA needs to build a rota of courses built specifically for US Open play.
