The B1G is a meat grinder where nobody is safe until losing to some teams is too embarrassing for the conference's image.
I thought their white out on big Monday against ISU was the best atmosphere I have seen in any of the new 8 schools by far and as good as the elite big 12 venues.
Everyone must shop at the company store.
Both are 6-12 in conference. Just no.
It's just propaganda. Gotta protect the brands. That's all the mother ship cares about.

I imagine the committee favors the SEC hard this year. This wouldn’t surprise me at all.
This would be a bad precedent to set. Conference realignment has consequences. And if you can finish above 33% in your conference, you don’t deserve to make the tournament, I don’t care how good your conference is seen as.
I’d almost be ok with saying you have to finish 500 or above. Won’t ever happen but agree there should be a cut off. When you get destroyed on a regular basis it has to matter. Another reason net is so bad, whatever metrics are used need to take into account when the wins/losses happen
There is a difference in 8-10 and 6-12 too. There is no way 6-12 with easy non con shouldn’t be rewarded in my opinion.
Conference record isn't a tournament factor though. Arguably it shouldn't be. Teams shouldn't be punished for being in a more demanding conference.
Separating out conference record is a pretty poor way of doing things, just as is separating out NCSOS.
In a 68 team tournament, "Are you any good at playing basketball" should have SOME weight, though.
I wish more people would remember this. People can disagree with it all they want but I believe the committee has sheets for each team and like you said conference record is nowhere on that sheet.
Of course it should. But you look at the resume as a whole, not pick certain segments of the schedule and elevate them one way or the other. (fwiw i don't think Texas's overall body of work is in that range)
Not arguing your point. I was just wondering, of all the NCAA March Madness winners, which team finished lowest in their conference standings? Might be a good question for @cyclones500. He's good at digging that info up.

In terms of getting a bid, ISU in 1992 might be up there. 5-9 in the big 8 yet made the tournament as a 10 seed .
