The Stanley Cup is cool because of the names on it. But the World Cup trophy is a bigger deal around the world. So I guess it probably depends on where you grew up.

I didn’t say it was the most prestigious, but the traditions and stories are the coolest. Did Argentina give the trophy back so it could be presented to this years winner? Will any soccer player touch it before they have won it? Does each winning player get to take it home for a day? Does it hold an entire case of beer? Can you even drink from it? Has any soccer player ever baptized their kid in it?
Much bigger deal over sea's and in South America. And they are doing their level best to make it a bigger deal in America.
Grew up in the midwest and for me, watching soccer is like driving through Nebraska or Kansas. Give me hockey all day long where the fights are real, the penalties are earned and there is non stop action by everyone on the ice.
