It's strange... I can't stand it when Scheffler runs away with these tourneys and makes them boring to watch... but for some reason I loved it when Tiger did it. I can't explain that? Maybe because Tiger was SO exciting to watch... and watching Scheffler is like watching paint dry?

At this point, the only one who can beat Scottie in a tournament is Scottie. If he's on, he's unbeatable. I've never seen a golfer hit irons consistently this well.

Personal preference. I like the quiet, methodical domination much more than the yelling and fist-pumping.

Obviously these courses are defenseless with lush fareway grass and no wind/rain.

Agree.... it is personal preference. I absolutely LOVE the game of golf... my favorite sport by far. But I still like to be entertained too... at least a little bit. Sure... I can appreciate every great golf shot, and enjoy seeing just how great these players are... but I also get a LOT more enjoyment from watching competition... and this Open Championship is no longer even competitive at this point. I tuned away about a half hour ago or so. It's already over... and Scottie just isn't an interesting enough of a player to keep me tuned in when the winner is not in doubt. Tiger was.

And don't get me wrong... I don't particularly care for Tiger as a person... and Scottie seems like about the nicest guy out there... so that has nothing to do with it.

Scottie has run into a problem on the 8th hole. He might drop a few shots here.

Scheffler is a brilliant golfer but frankly, boring to watch (being a bit facetious). Even when he goes bunker and drops some shots, he is right back in the groove on the next hole. Nothing like a good Garcia or McIlroy melt down. Doesn't miss 4 ft knee-knocker putts. Doesn't leave lag puts stupidly short. Doesn't have to make a lot of brilliant recoveries because he is rarely out of position and takes his medicine if he is. Will be interesting to see how long he stays at this level - seems to built to stay there for a while.

His footwork is going to become difficult to maintain as he ages. But that is 5-10 years away from being a problem.

We really need someone like Hatton to be leading these tournaments. The rollercoaster of wearing your emotions on your sleeve is what makes these more entertaining. If the announcer doesn’t have to apologize for the language used on the broadcast what are we doing?

Hatton and Wyndham Clark final pairing. Dana White could commentate.
