I used to draw maps too.

For more than a decade I've really been into heraldry. I know (in theory) my dad's family's coat of arms, I'm almost certain of my mom's family's coat of arms, and I'm almost certain of my dad's mom's family's coat of arms (as well as the Limerick County, Ireland tartan to go with it). But because I cannot prove my dad's family's coat of arms, I cannot claim them as my own. And because I can't claim my dad's, it doesn't make sense to claim my mom's because I'd have to quarter it with a white quadrant, which I do not want to do. Which is cool, because I get to create my own.

I haven't finalized it yet because there's always things I want to tweak, but once I'm 100% happy I will submit it to the American College of Heraldry to make it "official". (For instance, this isn't even the latest draft - my latest draft only has the maple leaf, as I've excluded the oak leaf and pine needles as it muddles it. I'm also thinking about using a barbed quatrefoil cross instead of the gothic-style trefoil cross I'm currently using) I do have a full achievement in the works, I just chose not to post it.

I also created one for my wife

I watch movies. That in itself is not quirky, but I keep a spreadsheet of every movie I watch, I give it a rating, I keep track of every movie I have recorded and where it is recorded, if ones I want to see are available on Netflix or Amazon.

My direct ancestry line also dates to Limerick County, Ireland!

Idk if it is quirky or nerdy but like building retro gaming systems. Have a SNES, NES, Sega Genesis running on a Raspberry Pi and I have a complete 31 system running on a old built up computer that uses Hyperspin as the front end viewer/system/game selector.

Edit: poster above beat me to it, but also do some homebrewing. Right now have a summer special in the closet

Do you have any odd hobbies or past-times?

One of mine is drawing maps. I use colored gel pens to indicate various things like highways, rail lines, streams, etc. I worked on one metro area for two years and the whole thing, when taped together, was about 10 x 10 feet large.

Psycho.

Now if you draw maps to porn star houses it would be less quirky. 100% more pervy or course.

Two summers ago I built a bar in my garage that opens to our pool in the back. I guess my hobby is keeping the garage clean and always rearranging things.

I have a Hyperspin machine, too! When people come over they don't realize how cool it is until I say, "name your favorite game" and I open it up. :)

Meats/cooking/making my own are my hobby.

Make bacon, make sausage, BBQ...have made limoncello, cream soda, root beer, pepper vodka, vanilla extract...used to make beer and wine in the past, but kiddos and opposite schedule from my wife currently taking too much of my time. Used to bake bread from scratch, but took too much time...now have a bread machine and haven't bought a loaf of bread in 2015...got a soda stream for fathers' day a few years ago...messing around with making my own syrups for it.

Raising show chickens.

Well, they're not really show chickens, but please keep that to yourselves. I would hate for their feelings to be hurt.

cross stitching isn't too common, I suppose.

When I was in grade school, I used to like drawing countries' flags. Useful on Jeopardy now and then.
