I take all High School commits with a grain of salt these days but this one felt even extra. A very underrecruited kid, way out of our typical territory. Felt like he jumped at his best/ maybe even surprise offer. We thought we could steal a unheralded kid we liked the competitiveness on. This just felt temporary the whole time.

He was 1000% committed to the highest offer, which has changed.
I'm not even mad at the kid, but welcome to the current state of 'college' athletics

We, as people who are fans/alumni of college teams/schools, in this day and age, shouldn’t even pay attention to recruits until they are actually on campus. Kids now a days commit and decommit constantly. Shouldn’t even be a commitment announcement until they’ve arrived on campus since even LOI don’t mean anything anymore either.

I'd go further and amend that to say nobody should pay attention until they actually see substantial minutes.

From now on I will only get excited for kids that are 2000% committed.

Just my own view of the situation. Maybe this one will prove otherwise, but I stand by the general sentiment.
Got it. With no substantial evidence, the lowest ranked recruit to commit under TJ got more money (unless you mean higher offer differently) by Drake or Texas Corpus Cristi.

Enormous if true :jimlad:

Trilly thinks that we told him "to move along". Bossi also saying he's not Big 12 caliber. Entirely possible we offered him then had second thoughts before everyone starts bashing a 17-18 year-old kid.
No one's bashing him. Whether it was the player or staff's decision it's weird to have it reversed in that short a timespan.

My quote right when it happened "Wonder if he will get a bump in ratings or other schools start going after him now that we offered and he committed."
