I like to wing things in the crock pot. It's great to use leftover meat and veggies for soup. We don't really have picky eaters though. Soup and sandwiches are quick and easy. Teenage boys will eat anything and everything.

I feel like I'm not yet good enough at understanding amounts and flavors to wing at a crockpot. I'll wing pasta and sauce, but even when following recipes my crockpot meals are iffy. Chicken tortilla soup was good one time though. Then I never used the crock again because I wanted sauteed onions in it so I just stuck to making that on the stove.

I try to eat at home. Of course as a guy living by himself in the winter it is frozen this or that. And as a guy living by himself it usually a last minute decision.

This time of year I usually grill every night. I love it. Just stocked the freezer with a whole hog, so I will be just fine for a while (nice thing about raising the hog is that I can lie to myself about what it cost.)

I've been doing blue apron. It's a splurge, but got me out of a food rut. I have made a ton of things that I never would have tried to make.

Not as much as I used to. I'm finding that some of my other volunteer activities are cutting into my time 2 to 3 nights per week. I cook more on weekends when I'm home more often.

if we are home Saturday nights, we'll try to make something big that can be either leftovers for lunch (we always take lunch from home) or leftovers for a busy weeknight. This week was lasagna.

I pretty much put fresh onions and garlic in everything. What's not to love there?

Crock pot is also easy way to have a beef or pork roast done when you get home, just salt and pepper, some onions, and stock for liquid. Large cut some taters and carrots in there, toss a salad in the fridge, and done. Use leftover roast with bbq sauce in sandwiches.

For a crock-pot: look up the Maid-Rite recipe online, get some high quality ground beef and enjoy. Your family will be stoked.

Sunday is often my day to cook.

I usually cook a turkey on a Sunday, hope enough is left to do something else with on Monday. When the kids have more time in summer, they will fish on the weekends though, but at least they fillet their own catch.

I cook a lot. Usually it's not very good, but I'm not picky. My problem is it's nearly impossible to make 1 person portions, so I end up eating 3 or 4 portions at a time. Leftovers are for the weak.

We must have the world's best crockpot because if I left it on all day it would be burnt to a crisp. Ours heats up within an hour every single time.

I'm getting old but readily admit that cooking and lawncare are completely therapeutic activities. Love trying new recipes, especially on the grill and smoking. If I was a younger guy, not married, and out there in the dating world I have a feeling the ability to cook would be a serious advantage in bagging desirable chicks.

I dont cook much, as all that effort to cook for one is a pain in the ***. This compounds itself as because i dont cook much i dont want to buy a ton of perishable ingredients, so when i do want to cook, it means a trip to the store, and i hate grocery shopping (thank you hyvee online delivery)

Grilling is most of my cooking.

Or the worst. The general idea behind a slow cooker is that you CAN leave it on all day so your meal is ready when you get home.

It is Goddamned fun.

I got in to making BBQ sauce. I used a recipe once and then threw it out. Much more fun to try different stuff. Starting to get decent at it. A bit to sweet for my taste, time for more heat to it.

Pack of pitas. Chicken breast. Tomato. Garlic clove. Ground mustard. Greek yogurt. Olive oil. Oregano. Lemon juice. Cucumber.

Everything fresh and healthy.

So you had a lot of leftover then. You can't add the whole cost of everything you bought to one meal when you probably used a fraction of a lot of those ingredients.
