Know what part of his tape I liked the best personally? All the plays on offense where he lays people out blocking for his receivers. That is the epitome of what we are trying to recruit, laying out for the better of the team. And damn his skills as a TE are nothing to sneeze at either looking at his highlights.

If his ideal size turns out to be 6"3, 235 or so keep him at LB, if he grows a ton more maybe he's better suited for de. Either way this kid looks like a badass and exactly the type of guy we want.

The defense continues to reload!

Anyone think the staff will possibly move Willich to a safety spot? I watched his highlights and noticed he can really fly to the ball. He's got good size and he's a pretty good athlete. We are so stacked at LB. If we can continue to get these midwest kids at a high level the future is really bright.

I'd imagine he will stay at LB. You gotta remember that we most likely lost Rose, Vance and Hummel next year. I could maybe see one or two of the yougner guys moving to DE. Mendeszoon was recruited to play LB but was a DE in high school if I'm not mistaken.

do you really think he is fast enough to play safety? I'm not seeing that, but what do I know. I like his size and we need size at linebacker. These 210-215 lb guys can cover and get to ball carriers, but my issue with the smaller linebackers is a lot of the times they make the tackle or stop, but they are not big enough to stop momentum and forward lean on ball carriers. The bigger linebackers have a better ability to stop guys in their tracks. And by bigger, I don't mean taller. George and Dobbins were not tall, but they weighed a lot and were strong.

A lot of kids that come in at around 210 usually are up to 230 or more by the time they see the field. Usually.

Which is exactly why you get players like this and then turn them over to this guy to do his thing.

This is another awesome pick up. For those wondering about the backlog of LBs, one of them may take the Seonbuchner role in the future! A lot of these kids are great multi position athletes that can play all over the field

Talking to a hok friend of mine late last night and all he could say was "this will be Campbell's last year." That's all they have now. Trolling was heavy but it will really amp up now that we are getting the sought after Iowa kids.

Enjoy this ride.

Your buddy is scared out of his mind that this isn’t Matt’s last year.

I also LOVE the highlight videos of Willich. I too think he shows great speed to the ball.

I love the idea of possibly someday having a LB corps of Imming, McClaughlin, and Willich myself.

I always reply with "I'll bet you $1,000 at 10:1. Do I want to bet $1,000 on anything? No. Do they want to bet $100 on something they pulled out of their ass? Super No.
Never a taker.

I told my HOK friend in 2016 that CMC was a good coach and he was going to turn the program around. He said no way that would happen. Seneca Wallace was not going to walk back through that door and ISU fans just need to get used to being a below average football team. Now he is eating crow.

Yes - Imming looks like the Knott super athletic type LB
McClaughlin looks like the AJ Klein outside LB who can run defend, smash people, and rush the passer
Willich looks like the Marcel Spears speed merchant who's tough, his frame is smaller but man can he run, the tape backs that up on him.
