The 20-win improvement broke a Division I record set by Ohio State in 1998-99 when they improved by 19 wins*. The school record was 17 wins (1998-99 with 15 wins to 1999-2000 with 32 wins).

*Note that Ohio State's wins in 1998-99 were vacated, so that is not official, but I think vacating wins is stupid. The games actually happened.

Looks like Towson broke it this year as well. 4-14 last year to 25-9 this year.

What's crazy is although there were a lot of games vs. low level conference opponents cancelled, even if those had all been scheduled AND ISU won them all last year (no sure thing), it would STILL have been possibly the best turnaround by a team in the Sweet 16.

I think we usually consider a CBB college coaching staff's job as 1. recruiting and 2. Xs and Os.

We know from TJs history he can recruit. This staff is always going to have solid players. There have been some up and downs on the Xs and Os, and as can be expected in a young coach and new staff there are going to be some bumps.

But I think the completely underrated aspect of coaching that TJ and this staff have absolutely nailed is getting guys to buy into how you are going to play as a team and each of their roles. This is the strength of TJ that I am most excited about, even more than his recruiting.
