ESPN talking heads raving about how Twins are pitching this year. Who would have thought? With their power and defensive ability, they might have their most balanced team in quite some time. Chances of winning the division look better every day.

If Sano is serious about turning himself into a ballplayer, this team could be legitimately scary come September.

And if Pineda manages to get his $hit together, the rotation looks pretty sound. Gibson can be kinda iffy, but maybe he can elevate his play to the level of Berrios and Perez.

The thing I'm most impressed with is that the newcomers - Cruz, Cron, Marwin, etc - really seem to like playing together, and with their new teammates. IOW it looks like these guys are having fun out there.

Speaking of Jim Katt, in 1988 our family attended a spring training practice and the kids were getting autographs left and right. I noticed Katt and Andy Macphail and told the kids to get their autographs. Macphail was shocked and Katt said that is what happens when you win the world series.

Screw Disney, the kids had more fun at Twins practice.

Tonight was a good one from Gibby.

Yup, career night with 11Ks in six.
And Jorge showing he might be the best at shortstop right now. He and the Twins just continue to pound the ball with the best record in the Bigs. Wow.

Love hearing John Smoltz getting pumped about the Twins pitching staff. Tonight his pick for most dominating AL pitcher is Jose Berrios. He said Jose has a Bert Blyleven level curve, which is quite the compliment.

Several series coming up against less than .500 teams. Twins could really make a move and put some distance between themselves and the other Central teams, starting tonight against the Tigers.

Agree, and the Twins start the homestand with one of hottest pitchers is baseball. I think the Big O wins again tonight and looking forward to seeing how the league's top hitter does after his 5 for 5 outing.

That bullpen will be the death of us all.

They keep winning, there are guys out there who can help the pen. Tough to lose Garver though as he has been the hottest catcher out there. The only Twin who looks like he is regressing is Hildy. Hope Sano gets on board with the Twins homerun derby.

I just hope Sano gets on board with becoming a healthy, productive player. He's the poster child for unrealized potential right now.

Don't know if Pineda is going to get it together or not, but having Sano back in the line-up adds another (potentially) potent bat to an already fairly scary line-up.

Looks like they are going to start giving bullpen auditions for some of these Rochester guys, too.
