That run play was so conservative to try and eat a little time. Throw the ball and get a first time and K-State doesn't get the ball back. Coach needs to play to win and not to lose.

Calling plays to keep the ball rather than eating clock has nothing to do with hindsight.

3rd and shorts lost this game for us today. Convert those and we win.

That is all on Mangino IMO.

I want a two-back, under-center, straight-ahead in that situation, even if the defense knows it's coming (because we don't use that formation in most situations).

If it gets stuffed, you can punt. If it goes for even a half-yard, consider going for it on 4th.

Either way, it burns clock and you have a choice to attempt the risk of the 2-for-1yard.

Eventually, you can use that approach and run a play-action in a similar situation.

2nd half passing stats were 11 completions out of 20 attempts. Choosing to throw the ball simply doesn't guarantee a first down or even a completion for that matter.

I have seen this forever at ISU. NO way Richardson has the cahones to check out of that called run and I blame CPR and Mangino for the weak call. playing not to lose poorly....ISU football since 1981. Get a first and we win. Spread offense weak *** run play that they knew was coming. I want some heart. I want a Walter Payton heart and a guy launching himself in the air. 1 freaking yard.

Not an awful call but it didn't work the first 2 times, my only real beef with it was not having Nealy or a bigger guy get the ball

How hard is it to line up under center and do a QB sneak? I mean really its simple and it works 95% of the time.

This +++++++++I was so torqued. Shotgun single back set with your "shifty little back," and everyone in the stadium and watching on TV knew exactly what was coming...At that point I said to myself, "well, get your nutcup ready..."

My buddy said this right before the snap. I wish we had a big bruiser in there in that situation. Thought it would have been a good time to use Standard.

I don't understand how we don't have a power running game. Running with backs who are barely 200 pounds in short yardage situations is doomed to fail.

It seems we dont have a 3rd and 1 play, because the two we ran were obvious and bad. Also, lining up in shotgun on 3rd/4th and short drives me ******* nuts.
