I def miss the McD on Welch. They used to have 25 cent cheeseburgers on special occasions. My buddy and I used to go there and have cheeseburger challenge (order 10 burgers each and compete who can finish first).

McD's is gone there? When did this happen and what is there? I will be googling in a few seconds but still had to ask.
Its been gone for 9 years. It was there my freshman year at ISU in 2002, but was torn down the Summer of 2003 to make room for...you guessed it, APARTMENTS!
Oh, battles... Never get your order right, but always tastes fantastic.I would gladly take a mcdonalds over anything not named battles on welch.

The food place I missed near Welch was that Pizza joint right between the Kum & Go and Dean's List. Can't remember what the name was but they had great cheese steak sandwiches and Pizza. Seems like every time I drive down Welch when in Ames there is always something new now.
Valentino's?
I remember going to Blimpies on Welch (where Battles currently resides), it was pretty decent 10 years ago. Quality of Battles has gone down since they made the move to Welch.

The one on Duff would do that. Last time i went and tired though, they didnt know what it was. So maybe not anymore. They also had "cyclone fries" where you'd get a bag full of fries for, if I remember correctly either $2 or $5...anyone remember that?

The CyFry no longer exists at either McDonald's location
