Polk and Story Counties until 7:55.

Never had them change the channel on my TV before. That was a new experience.

All cable boxes that have cablecards do it i believe.

Damn annoying, the alert isnt a bad idea, but it sucks that you cant exit it and switch to a channel that might be covering it (at least on my tivo)

We have DirecTV and it doesn't do that. Will it boot you from watching something on the DVR? We were watching via DVR last night and it didn't do anything. Our phones did warn us though - but that was about 10 min after the warning was issued (were following the radar/warnings via iPad).

Agreed, it is annoying but not a bad thing to have.

I dont think directv is held to the requirement cablecards are to display EAS messages.

But yes, it'll rip you out of things, and can ruin your recordings by tuning away from something youre recording when youre not there.

So this is why the tornado sirens are going off in Ankeny. Maybe we should go to the basement? pic.twitter.com/hIzHeCSiyi

I have my parents 2011 car at my house in WDM until Friday. I only have one garage, so I've been hoping for no hail. So far, I think we've avoided it at my house.
