At Football Study Hall, they have us ranked at #63 and ahead of KSU (74), Texas (84) and KU (126). Not that far behind Tech (55). We've beaten Texas and KU so far but laid an egg against Tech - they rated that game as a 19th percentile performance for us. They have OSU at #35, but with the game being at JTS they put it in the toss-up category giving us a 40% win probability. The game at KSU is a 49% win probability. Win probability against OU of course is low. But the confusing one is WVU.
They have WVU as the #13 team in the country according to advanced stats. That's hard to swallow for a team that's 3-4, but if you start to look at their schedule it begins to make a little more sense. They crushed their 3 non-con opponents, and in conference they've played OU, OSU, Baylor and TCU. That's a hell of an opening conference slate. They played OSU to a one-score game. The other three games weren't as close, but you're talking about legit Top 10 teams too. Looking at common opponents, we actually kept the score a little bit closer against TCU and Baylor, though we did play Baylor in a monsoon. WVU will be a team to watch the next three weeks to see if they are as good as the advanced stats think they are right now, or if we'll have a better chance to beat them.
