How do people get wx out of weather? Just wondering.

The telegraph operators of the 1800s made up a lot of abbreviations. These are still in use by ham radio operators today (using Morse Code).

Here's a few of these...
WX = weather
OM = "old man" (shorthand for a male of any age)
YL = "young lady" (female of any age)
XYL = your wife (ie former YL)
73 = best regards
SK = silent key (end of transmission or an operator who has died)

Morse Code - the original (and still best) text messaging system:

Cedar Rapids
im playing the Oaks in ames and if its took wet ill probably get a cart instead. hopefully the greens wont be like concrete and actually let the ball stick instead of roll all over the place

We played Oaks last weekend and it actually wasn't in to bad of shape. Greens were pretty good and weren't rock hard. With this rain tonight they should actually been pretty soft.
