The Warriors can break the regular season win record, but it won't mean anything if they don't win the title in the same season.

Still believe they're going to break the record. This team is just on a different level from everyone else.

They have a really good shot, but there's a lot of season to be played. I'll be curious to see if they're still as focused on the record by late February and early March. They'll get everyone's best shot as long as they're chasing 72-10.
For now, they have a four game homestand coming up. That Christmas Day game with the Cavs coming to town should be incredible. It'd be better if Kyrie Irving was back so both teams were at full strength, but we could still be seeing a Finals preview.

1995-96 Chicago; 26-3 at this time. The entire month of January, the Bulls did not lose a game. If the Warriors can match that, then this record is going down.

Now, Top 5:
Golden State Warriors: 30-2
San Antonio Spurs: 28-6
Cleveland Cavaliers: 21-9

Worst record of all time
1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers: 3-36 at this point

LA Lakers: 6-27
Philly: 3-31

I don't think that's going to happen. Just glancing at their upcoming schedule, they have a tricky mini road trip through the Midwest next week - @ Detroit, @ Cleveland, @ Chicago, and then a 1/25 home game with the Spurs. Not too hard to see them losing one or even two of those games. The Spurs one is tough to read because you never know if Pop might decide to rest some of his starters that night just to **** everyone off.

1995-96 Chicago; 39-3 at this time. Spurs could win up to 65 games and still only get the #2 seed in the west!

Now, Top 2:
Golden State Warriors: 42-4
San Antonio Spurs: 39-7

Worst record of all time
1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers: 4-50 at this point

Philly: 7-40

Italicized part is mind-boggling, especially considering possible final records:

Full-season pace for each team (Wins rounded downward):
Golden State: 74-8
San Antonio: 69-13
Philadelphia: 12-70

Spurs would be tied for 4th best win% in NBA history and still be 5 games behind!

Edit, also:
Oklahoma City pace is 60-22.

It's been a while since I updated this, but tonight is a huge game. Can the Warriors beats the Spurs in San Antonio, breaking that home winning streak while tying the 72 win mark. And pop is not going to rest anyone.

I don’t follow NBA too closely, but I’m always fascinated by records (and I do really like Golden State’s team). This is a huge game.

Spurs haven’t lost at home yet this season, and if they win out I think they’re tied for 6th on all-time winning percentage list. Golden State has to win to keep the 73-9 in play.

35 -35 at halftime. NBAtv is using the Warriors broadcast team and it's making it unbearable to listen to.

Watching that video, I can't believe how much more physical the defense could be without getting a foul called.

Curry hits a 60 foot three but luckily was a tenth of a second late. I don't have a good feeling about Spurs helping us out tonight. Memphis had that game last night. This ****ing sucks.
