I think fans that say "Well we scored 35 in the first half and should be able to score 70 every game" have played a little too much XBox. I don't think the game plans have been overly conservative in the second half for the most part. I just think the percentage of 3rd down conversions (especially 3rd and short) has been pitiful. It is an execution issue more than a play calling issue.
I'm not necessarily thinking we should be able to score 70 pts every game, I never said that.
But if we put up 35 pts in one half against someone, then I fully expect to score more than 7 pts in the 2nd half, and if we don't I'd consider that 2nd half a failure. Whereas Rhoads is thinking.... " all we have to do is score 7 pts this half to win the game."
Sorry, I just don't like that line of thinking. Sounds like a defense minded head coach, which Rhoads is.
