Given that iowa never used to be included in a mini-pack, and that the Iowa game used to be offered as a single to donors\season ticketholders first, instead of just open to the general public, it seems like a benefit was taken away from donors here, and hawks\panthers will benefit.

Donors still have first pick for singles in the donor section. So it's not that big of a deal

I'm surprised at the people choosing Texas over TCU. I guess Texas is homecoming which does make sense.

I went for possibly watching the national title contender vs a 5-0 isu. :) Game day in Ames? Don't say never.

I chose TCU, and besides last year, we've played them OK since they've been in the Big 12. They'll be a better team than Texas this year, that's for sure.

If I had to go with who do we have a better shot beating it's Texas.

That's pretty good "bang for your buck" with two rivalry games. Even if the teams aren't hyped, people still love rivalries. Too bad for the lack of endzone interest, though.

The section available are L and K upper level or sections 17 and 18 lower level, the visitor sections on the East side.
So these tickets are usually for opponents fans, so we are just trying to fill them up?

Actually if you look at the seating diagram for available tickets there are under 1000 left in the new sections total. It isn't as dire as some will make it out to be.

You don't sell 100.00 mini-packs for two of the biggest games on your schedule if there are only 1000 tickets remaining. That just doesn't add up at all.

Wow, people really like to complain about everything involving football lately.

This is a damn good deal.

I bought a couple for me and the Mrs.

It is a damn good deal and I'm sure they'll sell a bunch of these packages. It just means that ticket sales are bad and they're basically giving up on anything other than being able to bump up ticket sale numbers.

Visitor sections are 15, 16, H & J now.

more likely they moved the visitors section. You can't sell their allotment until they have been returned, which they haven't been this early.

I don't think it means ticket sales are bad. I think it means they haven't sold all of them and we're looking for a way to get above season ticket prices for at least three games. The $99 is more than what season tickets would bring for those three games unless you priced iowa and uni higher.

Remember that these are just the endzone seats. They are not the remaining donor tickets. I am guessing they will sell those to donors as singles.

if they were trying to maximize revenue they'd have sold all of the UNI/Iowa games individually, or packaged UNI or Iowa with the games against OSU and Texas.

I think this is about getting the most people in the seats as possible early in the season, then hoping the results are good enough to bring people back later in the year.

Bingo.

In the past we've sold the minipacks for the 3-4 worst games of the year. Its a deal to sell games that otherwise might not sell.

Now we're offering mini-packs for the best games of the season? Aside from donors who want higher quality seating, why would anyone buy a season ticket for the sections that have mini-packs when they could just as easily buy the minipack and then just pick up cheap tickets at the game for any other games they want to go to (people were giving those away last year).

The only way it even remotely makes sense is if season tickets have just fallen off a cliff, and even then its a massive undercut to your season tickets.

I guess that's possible if you charge more for singles than $33 but you might not get the other $33 later. I think your scenario is only valid if you can get $50 per seat in the endzone for uni and iowa. Otherwise you possibly lose out on the other game.

These are only the endzone seats.
