I envision Bret running for his life a lot and getting sacked a ton.
The o-line is not going to spontaneously improve soon enough to benefit the seniors on offense.

I'd rather not go the JUCO route. It's a bandaid that rarely stops the bleeding. We're a tad late in the recruiting process as well.
Juco running back to spice up the rest of the unit. A good juco beefalo on the hoof tacjkle. We have most parts that coild be assembled. How about a Jordan Burnstine visit? Nebraska is still pursuing him. We want speed, so a lot of offseason speed practice. Fly to the Ball on defense. For offense, look at wehat he might have watched at tampa Bay in 1999. I would think he needs a strong running back to do the offense he needs to do. That would be throwing somewhat long down the middle of the field to Blythe. DEtill think someone like Harbaugh mighht be picked for offensive coordinator. I think others can learn from Gene. It is like Mack Browen is becoming Hayden Fry tree of knowledge. Hope should sell a lot of season tickets with the great teams coming to town. Lucky tator is leaving Iowa (for him)..
There are clearly talent issues on both sides of the ball that will need time, but I envision/hope for an offense that takes maximizes it strengths and works around its weaknesses.
Lots of coaches put together schemes to counteract weak OL protection. Rolling pockets, quick release routes, screens. Things we haven't seen a lot of in JTS of late.
There's nothing wrong with JUCO's. The stigma of JUCO's being dumber than a box of rocks or bad apples are long gone. You may have to end up going the JUCO route for the first couple of years. Callahan did that in Lincoln and ended up with some kid by the name of Zac Taylor :sweet:
I really doubt that Chizik will have much of an answer if he's asked about an offensive scheme for next year. He probably doesn't know a lot about Meyer and Blythe more than what he checked out in preparing for the game this year.
And since he doesn't even have an OC yet, that's something that will wait. He probably just say something about emphasizing the strengths of the players.

He probably has thought about it before taking the job. I would guess that he already has a decent idea of who he wants on his staff.
Agreed. Most moves like this aren't a result of a cold call. I'm guessing he knows who he wants and more than likely he's already started contacting them.
