WOW, I am not a fan because I dont donate anymore to a lackluster program......I gues I better dish out more money so we can keep this program where it is at....

Sorry Pollard, NO production, NO money. If you think we as 'Clones fans would dish out money just to kick in the coinpurse every fricking game. You are sadly mistaken. I personally prefer a product that produces on the court, not regresses.

They tell you to send the money to the AD but they give you poor product. Wont last long

so you guys don't care that you have to be donor in order to be a die-hard fan in the eyes of your AD?

Just curious cause I was shocked at that reaction by your AD (no, not because of our history)

1. How do we even know this guy is a cyclone fan?
2. Mike Taylor is doing well will his "new coach"
3. The guy takes some cheap shots at players.
4. Matt Rainey if real has never spent a dime on ISU so " the ticket I bought for the Missouri game will be the last I purchase from your program until there is a change" carries no weight.

Try not to go to the Tirrell book of getting listeners.

No, I don't think that is what we are saying. I am just saying that you should not expect to be taken very seriously in his case. You can be a die hard but in this case money is to the AD as voting is to politics. I am not saying he is not a die hard or a great fan.

This is a story. I'm not trying to get a feel from your reaction to it. It's not even my blog! How am I trying to get more attention for my show?

The point is he has never been a season ticket holder or donor. It is not that he quit giving money it is that he never did.

I can't believe there isn't more than one or two people posting in the thread who are questioning the validity of the email in the first place.

I call BS on the entire thing.

What would JP have to gain by sending a non-donor, non-ticket holder an email back? Further, what would he have to gain using that tone with someone? Nothing. My money is on this being bogus.

My last email with Jamie, checking on his son James....

Michael,
Thanks for the follow-up. All is well on our end. Our family is getting ready to leave for Kansas City to attend the Big 12 tournament. Huge win for Greg on Saturday night. He deserved that - it has been a long season.
Good luck to the Sioux down the stretch. Got the boys out to an Iowa State Club Hockey game this past month and they received the royal treatment. Went in the locker room with the players and got a tour of the facility. They really enjoyed it.
Thanks again for the follow-up.

A poster earlier in this thread is pretty sure that the writer is a college student.

According to you, no product = no money, which then will equal no product. Its just a neverending cycle until you decide to do something about it (donate)

Just curious cause I was shocked at that reaction by your AD (no, not because of our history)

Mr. Rainey probably would have carried a little more weight had he at least stated, "I can't afford to donate a whole lot to the ISU, but I have had season tickets for the last XX years."

I guess I would have the same reaction as Pollard. But I'm sure even Pollard wishes he wouldn't sent out that email. Like a lot of things, he probably should have wrote it and filed it away and sent Mr. Rainey the standard, "Thank you for your interest in ISU athletics." Unfortunately, I think that would have made Mr. Rainey even angrier because he would have claimed he got a "form" email response.

I don't donate a whole lot to ISU, either, but I have had some excellent conversations with Pollard at events such as at the pep rally the Friday night before last year's ISU-KSU game. The thing is Pollard doesn't know me at all, so that means he knows I don't donate a lot to ISU. Yet he seems to find time to talk to not just me, but to a lot of "non or little" donors.

EDIT: Concerning my second paragraph regarding Pollard's email, I read many posts that imply that the email to Mr. Rainey could be a fake. I never thought about that. Good point.

If this is a true story...do your homework. Go and get more emails (they are state property) see if its true that JP has received 100-1 positive to negative. Follow up and find Matt Rainey, see what his background is.

I have a feeling instead you're going to strike while the iron is hot and spin this whole AD JP wont do a interview with me so lets drag him through the mud.
