So.. The kid has tickets through his parents. He is 20 years old.

I agree that until he buys the tickets personally he shouldn't say much or have his parents write that email instead. That being said you don't say that to a potential customer. Instead don't say anything or send something back saying thanks for your concern.

Pollard instead pisses off a kid, probably resulting in his parents not buying tickets or donating anymore. Also, the kid goes public and then tells other "potential" customers that the program needs.

Not smart.
Or maybe it will be the foot up his *** to put up or shut up.

Well his dad bought the TV so when they look up the receipt and see that his dad paid for it.............I digress, what I mean is the kids dad has paid for the TV and the kid comes into customer service ranting and raving. Haven't you ever seen that in a similar situation? I have and I would not blame a manager for ripping him a new one.

The fact is Pollard did not say he was not a fan if he didn't donate. That is a fact. He also addressed him with questions reflecting on the kids attitude or the way in which he was going about trying to bring change. Jamie pointed out, and I admit it was somewhat rudely, that this person had done nothing to assist in change or the success of the program. He also said his parents bought tickets then on the radio said they bought some outside. I would assume that means scalping. As far as the AD is concerned that is the same thing. The AD receives nothing off a ticket sold by a scalper.

Jamie could have been nicer about this however mr89ia had this coming whether it was right or not. He halfway threatened Jamie and was pretty offensive in general. If people wouldn't have put words into Jamies letter without them actually being there this would be a lot less of a deal.

So... He is a potential customer right??? And his parents are customers.. So... ISU is saying we don't want new customers??? Or if your not a customer, even though you buy stuff and your parents are customers, that we don't want you here??

He shared his opinion and someone like Pollard SHOULD TAKE THE HIGH ROAD.

We must have had different childhoods. If I had written such an email to Pollard when I was a 20-yr. old, my folks would be ****** at me, not JP. And I could forget about getting tix from them anymore, because they'd be angry, and embarrassed as hell.

Sooo he buys shirts and merchandise.. College gets a share. His parents buy season tickets. Who says they will anymore. The university excepts tax payers money. He is a tax payer.

Explain to me where is is wanting something for nothing again???
I'm willing to bet money that e-mail isn't all facts from that kid. The chances he remembers Hoiberg are slim to none. What leads you believe anything he said is factual?

I'm an alum and a taxpayer, so I think that alone would allow me to voice an opinion to the A.D. without needing to show my ticket purchase history.

Not everyone grew up the same way even in the same period.

Again, Pollard did not tell him he was unwanted. In fact, Nowell did he say his opinion was not wanted. Pollard directed him how he could help change if he wanted it in ways other that sending a demeaning and overall bitchy email. Did Jamie go about it in in improper tone? Yes, but he did not tell him his opinion did not matter.

I'm 28 now... and at 20 there is no way in hell I could of donated... Heck I can barely now with my companies situation.

So using your logic.....

If I stop buying season tickets, but still make a few games, that I should completely shut up about all stuff ISU??? Not complain, not buy merchandise or anything.

God knows I never agree with you, and I'm in the same boat. If I sent an e-mail to Jamie right now like that and my mom found out about it, she'd whoop my ***.

Forwarding the e-mail was pure bush league anyways. Sounds like an attention scam.

Ok... So what is his motive MR. CSI on making up an elaborate email to just **** off Jamie Pollard??

If this was a false email I would think someone like Pollard would address something that grew this fast. Especially since this could hurt business.

You could voice it. It wouldn't do any good. That tax excuse is BS. I think about 5% of the budget is supported by taxes so you have a pretty insignificant amount of money going to the AD. Also since you mentioned it you should probably thank JP for lowering that small amount you pay through taxes.

Look at this from the other side. If you buy season tickets and donate, do you think the people who do neither should have the same voice as you? Is that fair? I tend not to think so.

I think it's funny that being part of the solution (what is the solution exactly?) is contributing money to a failing coach?

EXACTLY...... a point being missed because he isn't personally a ticket holder currently.

So you start donating to have a voice and they still sell you the same garbage.

Then they should just follow through with the regents direction and completely cut off the tax money, since it's insignificant.

If I'm an alum and you're not, do I get a bigger voice for helping keep the institution viable and allowing sports to exist?

As long as we're using each other's logic...

My dad owns a Chevy. I've sat in it for years, but own a Honda myself.

I saw the interior of the 2010 Malibu the other day. I don't like it. If I send a snippy message to Ed Whitacre demanding that he rip out, redesign and re-release the Malibu at great expense to the shareholders, and inform him I will not buy another Chevrolet until this demand is met, should GM stop production immediately and do what I say?

I mean, I'm a potential customer, right? They should BOW to me.
