The statement below is MONEY!

It was also a job, since he knew he might lose his at Iowa State when a new coach replaced Fred this year. Can't blame him one bit for taking the sure thing back home.

Matt leaving ISU to go to St. Johns shouldn't be that big of a deal. Slice did the same thing and he was at Kentucky! Yes, that Kentucky.

Seems like they have a lot of recruiters and no coaches.

I know it's early, but I'm gonna bet Chris Mullin won't be a successful coach. Just a hunch.

I don't know who the rest of the coaches are, but personally, I think the world of the jobs that Bobby and Doc did here. I really think Fred benefited from Bobby that first year, and Mullin would be smart if he has the same type of guy.

Big name D1 school loses by 32 to a D2 school. With 300+ D1 teams that's really, really bad. That should be instant fire bad.

You sure about that? Seems to me he spent two years chasing two big fish, scoring neither. Then on his way out, steals a key member of ISU's recruiting class. That tells me something when Hoiberg doesn't bring him to Chicago in some capacity. The guys a punk.

What a terrible guy, getting us in the final 3 for a couple top 15 recruits. How dare he do that to us.

And what if Williams was only coming to ISU for MA? What does he tell him? "No, you can't come with, stay at ISU, where you'll know none of the coaches"?

Honestly, I'm more annoyed with Williams than I am with Matt A. I can't begrudge a guy for taking a job closer to home, but Williams signing with ISU was a perfect situation for everyone. At least he could have given ISU's new coach a chance to talk to him before bailing.

Darien had 3 years to play 2 I believe? He would have been a nice 7-8 man for us and added depth up front even though he's more of a wing but still added depth. WTS...if you are DW you have to be regretting that decision to leave what could be a potential FF team in ISU for a SJ team that appears to be really really awful.

Darien has 3 years of eligibility. I wish we had him, was bummed when he left.

Honestly, people need more perspective in their life if they are really that mad at Matt A, or any 20 year-old kid who decided to go play somewhere else.

Don't give two ***** about Abdellmesiah (sp?), but a Big East team getting thunder****ed by a D2 team is just hilarious.

Nobody should blame Williams for anything. Fred left way late in the recruiting process which left Williams in limbo. Fred went stealth mode for about 6 weeks during a critical time of coach hiring and transfer scholarships being given out. The Bulls deal had been done for months and the stealth mode ruined any chance ISU had of rerecruiting Williams with a new coach. I am still amazed ISU was able to get a great coach.

I have zero proof, but I'm a little salty toward Matt A because I think there's a good chance he was one of the main sources in the Hines article. He has a big mouth. Always rubbed me the wrong way.
