Since when is it a bad thing to respond a topic you care about? No different then responding to every thread on a message board.

The difference is the recruit sees your tweet, like they saw yours since they retweeted the initial tweet. Not a major deal or anything, but that's what makes it different.

You're right but I just want you to know I wasn't being serious about that reply. I had a follower (not an Iowa State fan) tell me he's seen that guy play and he's absolutely ridiculous so I just made a joke that it must be a long shot then. It was a bad joke. I have confidence in Freddy that he'll land a kid like this eventually.

I think we all know you were't being serious. But, does the recruit know you were being sarcastic?

But I thought Hines said we were finished recruiting players of this caliber. This just shows how little guys like him know about ISU.

He said unless we have an "in" or connection to that recruit. Staff might have connection to someone at that school.

I think everyone was getting a little caught up in the winds of change at that time and making some ridiculous assumptions. It doesn't make any sense to have all of this hype going in to a season off the back of 5 years of building up relevance and name cache to just bottle ourselves in to "mid-low top 100 guys that are close to us". Does anyone remember the recruiting budget article? I expect that to go up not down. Listen to Fred's words, think about how we're going to get there, then formulate your ideas. The Final Four is not easily obtained off the back of 3 star midwestern HS guys and Fred is a thinker, not a grinder like Bo Ryan. He'll take the path of least resistance if he can get it.

One big loss and one asst. coaching change and people start losing their minds and just decide that we need to stop painting the Mona Lisa and get the fingerpaints out.

Hines said we were finished recruiting high level guys we do not have some sort of connection with which means there must be a connection of some kind here.
