what's the average lifespan of a coach in the NBA? Can't be more than 8-10 years. They run through them pretty quickly. My point is that this isn't Hoiberg's last chance at this gig. It will open up again in 8-10 years and might seem a better time to go.

Maybe you should try substituting "tenure" or "career" for "lifespan".

Still don't think a head coaching job ever pulls Fred away.

GM job might, though, someday.

Do you realize it just snowed 4 inches in Minnesota this morning?

If it helps keep Fred clear we got 14.5 inches just outside Minneapolis yesterday

Dan has, on air, talked about this. Yes, Adelman not coming back was assumed for about a month. Dan is of the belief, as others as expressed, that Fred would not leave ISU four weeks after accepting a pay raise. It may be that his tweet has some inside info behind it. Flip has a standing segment with Dan on Fridays; we will say what (if anything) Flip says tomorrow. I do personally agree that Fred is not going anywhere soon.

I highly doubt Fred is going anywhere. He has more job security at ISU then 99.9% of coaches in any sport at any level in the entire country. It is what it is. Fred has a long term deal in place at ISU where he earns currently in excess of 2 million per season. Sure... he could take an NBA job for 5 to 6 million per year but chances are fairly high that job would only last for 3 years at the rate coaches in the NBA are hired and fired. So why take 15 to 18 million over a 3 year span instead of 2 million plus per season at a place you love where you could virtually spend the rest of your career and make plenty of money with far more job security? It doesn't make sense to leave. ISU is the place for Fred.

I want to believe.

He did say "Hey, guys." I'm not sure if that is a good sign or a bad sign. Please analyze it for me.

Of course this could all mean nothing since this was before the 2 OT loss that pushed them below .500. I'm sure if they had won that one Adelman would be back. Flip probably wasn't even considering a coaching change at that point.

I hope they hire Kevin Ollie or someone really young like him and the T-Wolves become a dynasty under whoever it may be so we don't have to worry about this again any time soon.

Really? Why are all these NBA coaches dieing so soon, and why are they so young?

Just got off the phone with Fred. He's taking the Washington Generals job.
