This is the official app that I used. Only cost about $22 and got instantaneous approval. Just need your passport.
Ditto. The only hangup we had was that we had NO plain white wall in our house for a backdrop. My picture was taken in the garage, sitting in front of our white upright freezer! It took each of us several hours to get the photo right. Annoying that our grandson got his on his first try. Once submitted, it took about five minutes for each of us to get the confirmation emails.

Edit: Never mind...I didn't read far enough!

What’s everyone doing for data in Ireland? Trying to decide if I pony up the $100 for US cellular international plan if it will actually work or if I need to look into something else…

Good question. I’m not going to Ireland, but when I’ve gone to other places in Europe in Africa, I’ve been able to get plenty of data through Verizon just by upgrading to their $65 a month cellular phone package.

It was comparable service to their international plans, but much more affordable.

We have an international plan with Verizon because we earn free data days to use when we're out of the US. We usually tell our grandkids to call their provider to get a one month add-on of international service. Some people purchase a Sim card; we don't.

AT&T I am paying $12/day for phone and data while in Ireland. Only bills on days I use it

Only use this app, heard horror stories of people getting ripped off by third party vendors.

Yeah when I googled it there were a lot of different links, but when you go to the ‘gov.uk’ site or whatever, they just list the instructions and direct you to this app.

If you're being told you need to pay an additional fee or extended wait time it’s probably a scam site.
