Frere started the first three games of the 2006 season as a true freshman and really struggled. He hardly even played during the conference games. Before that season started, I posted that we were in trouble if Mac was starting an unheralded true freshman at DT. It looks like he has put on about 25 pounds of muscle since his freshman year. It would have been nice if Mac had redshirted him so we could have him for two more years. He seems like the kind of guy who will keep the team loose in the locker room.

I think giving Frere a video camera for every game to document what goes on before the pre-game stuff would b an amazing idea. It shows how human some of these guys are.

Frere is hilarious. I love the part where hes pretending to do pull ups on the cross bar, then goes one-handed, then no handed hahahaha

Actually, it was well publicized that prior to last season he lost twenty-five pounds, to get down to 291.

Frere seems like a really nice kid and he's got a great sense of humor. But standing next to him at a party last month, if I didn't know who he was (fellow Muscatine native) I would have never guessed that he's a D1 nose tackle. Good luck to him, I love seeing Muskies excel at the next level.

Can you ever say something positive, without being negative? My god.

There are several lineman that, out of pads, look like ordinary over-weight week-end warriors...even some in the NFL. Nick Leaders comes to mind at ISU.

Hey man, all I was saying is that when I think nose tackle I think of a giant, hulking man that can absorb several offensive lineman, and he looked a little small. That's all. It doesn't mean he can't play, I hope he does great! Look at Mitch King, he was small for d-tackle standards and he was very good. I've seen him out at the bars and he didn't exactly pass the eye test either.

I'll bet he'd never have guessed he was standing next to the biggest ********* in the state of Iowa.

And you thought we'd care? Besides talking about the design program, whenever and theres something positive about iowa state, you open your mouth and back hand slap the topic at hand.... its annoying.
