Seems like all the one hit wonders are from before 2000. Are there any modern day one hit wonders? It's been a long time since I listened to the radio, so I don't even know what's playing right now.

Maybe Awolnation with "Sail"? They have a ton of good songs, but not sure how big some of the others got. On Spotify, sail has over 10x as many plays as anything else.

I believe these 3 would apply:
Biz Markie - Just a Friend
Mungo Jerry - Summertime
Sugar Hill Gang - Rapper’s Delight

To the 50 people that have pointed out Blur isn’t a one hit wonder, I am profoundly sorry. I only ever really got into Song 2 but did know they were big overseas. They should not be a one hit wonder overall, just in my experience.
No need to apologize. I didn't intend to pile on. That's a situation when considering Song 2 a 1-hit seems reasonable, using a relaxed definition and considering exposure at the time.

Note: In context/spirit of the thread: I've posted some finicky responses. That's my music-geek side.

A more general "relaxed" definition --> is one song widely considered by general listenership to define an artist's work? (other songs may have charted, but not as highly and there wouldn't be a "decision").

If an artist has one major hit and that's pretty much the extent of it, that's a simple case of one-hit.
