The only problem with espn3 is you have to have a subscription to only limited cable networks. Mediacom and dish or direct tv are not included.

Not true. ESPN3 games that are Big 12 Network games are based on ISP, not cable company. You can watch them on your computer or xBox. However, you can't on WATCH ESPN apps. Games on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU require the Watch ESPN apps.

I believe that every single American Conference game is televised nationally (A lot on ESPNEWS or CBSSports, but it's still national) so I wouldn't be surprised to see the Big 12 move that way.

If you don't have access to Espn3, you're doing it wrong. All of your problems go away.

The truth is that in today's world with 200 channels you shouldn't have to subscribe to cyclone.tv and it shouldn't matter whether you have directv, mediacom, or dish. They are just asking people to watch for free online.

Regardless, I find it an absolute joke that the AD would completely spit on the western third of the state, over 1.5 mill viewers, by signing a deal with Mediacom. How someone can't find a regional broadcast game in the Omaha or Sioux City market is a joke.
Omaha is and will continue to grow, whether it's a Nebraska stranglehold or not has nothing to do with it, and stretch it up to Sioux Falls, which continues to grow at a stupid rate, I don't understand how they can just crap on that market just because the all-crappy Mediacom came calling with a second rate product.

Couldn't agree more. Growing up in the Sioux City area has always been frustrating. When it comes to Cyclone sports coverage, sometimes I feel like I'm not even in the state of Iowa. Thank goodness for Directv and the sports pack.

Get cable tv, get xbox, download espn app, watch all conference games. Or get one of those android cable boxes.

Just like how realignment is difficult on teams, it is difficult on media. ESPN is still working out contractual issues regarding new conference tv deals, etc., and it seems like ISU will be televised much more and on a broader scale once the dust settles.

I have DISH 120+ package in WA state. The Tech game was on some alternate sports channel (400 something, don't remember) that was included in 120+ . The Texas game was on Altitude 410 and MASN 432 (channel numbers from memory, not 100%) which I added the multisports pack with.

For me it looks like all the rest of the big 12 games will be on MASN (their online TV schedule indicates as much anyways) so the multisports pack should get the rest. I'll just cancel it after March.

Who forced you to move to Arizona? If watching games are THAT important to you, live where you can watch games. Problem solved, no charge.

It's very possible that this was the best option for ISU. Increasingly, those six or so games that are now on Cyclones.tv were ending up on Mediacom channel 22 anyways.

Do we even need the FullCourt package for BB games anymore? So far, I don't think we've had a game there.

After I could not the the Texas Tech and Texas games I did the standard CF thing and emailed JP. (Before the EICC game I got the 200+ channel package from DISH so I could get that game on EspnU)

He replied quickly (on MLK holiday even) that ESPN subleases some Big 12 games and that is what happens sometimes. He also said that it "appears" that ESPN will not do this subleasing next year. That will be sweet for next year but am still ****** that I also could not get the KSU game today for the same reason apparently.
My question is Are there other parts of the country in the same boat - can't get the games that are listed as being on the "Big 12 Network". it especially grinds my gears that these games aren't available on Cyclones.TV either. How about Direct TV customers in this (Phoenix) area - are you blacked out too? It would cost me a small fortune to switch now just two months into my Dish deal but I would think about it.

topeka, KANSAS station started their broadcast with the baylor/ut game. but i think they did that just to p.o. wildcat fans. they switched a few minutes into the game.

I don't quite understand how The Big 12 Network works in terms of providing games. Do they set up packages with individual customers or through network providers. They sell the games to ESPN who then sells/provides to affiliates ? Why doesn't the Big 12 set up programming packages for all the games with Direct TV, Dish, Mediacom, and how does this work or conflict with The Texas sports network and CycloneTV and other privately run school sports networks.

We are at every home game, but added an inexpensive sports package to Direct TV and record every game.

Wasn't it last year KCRG televised the other Big 12 game instead of the ISU game one Saturday? You can tell a hok fan was trying to troll ISU fans by doing that. I think they switched it by halftime but they claimed there was "an engineering issue" or something like that. Right...
