That dot is a nice alternative. Price is right.
Wish they would have made it and the Echo battery powered.
Tried ordering my first thing directly from the Echo since they were offering $10 off $20 orders or more. Maybe it was the product I was buying but it just wouldn't work. I tried about every combination of words and it just wouldn't work.

It sounds like it's good at ordering products that you've already purchased. When I tried "power bank" it did find some items that I had ordered in the past. Worse case scenario I would hope you could just say the item # but no go.
If you're an Amazon Prime member, you can ask Alexa to order select Prime-eligible items that are sold or fulfilled by Amazon. However, these items are not eligible for voice purchasing:
When you make a voice purchase request, Alexa searches through several purchase options:
- Apparel
- Shoes
- Jewelry
- Watches
- Amazon Fresh
- Prime Pantry
- Prime Now
- Add-On items
If an item is available, Alexa tells you the item name and price. Then, Alexa asks you to confirm or cancel the order.
- Your Order History (Prime-eligible Items)
- Amazon's Choice - Amazon’s Choice items are highly rated, well-priced products with Prime shipping.
- Prime-eligible items from Amazon
I would say it's certainly possible, but I don't think that's what that article implies. Good on Amazon for not just giving in without a valid warrant, a search warrant for the house doesn't or shouldn't include data that Amazon possesses. This story leads me to believe the Amazon Echo is capturing more than just sentences beginning with "Alexa".

*Adjusts tinfoil hat* Probably just coincidence but that murder happened in Bentonville, AR. That is the city where Wal-Mart HQ is located. Anyone else stop and wonder if the prosecutor is taking advantage of this case to try and make people extra leery of these Amazon devices? This story leads me to believe the Amazon Echo is capturing more than just sentences beginning with "Alexa".

Any great or not so great reviews?
With my luck, I'd buy one and a cordless version will come out right away.
