I watched Shayok run around a screen. His defender shoved him with two hands to keep him from running a tight curl around the screener.

It was a blatant foul but the officials didn't see it.

It happens all the time. When ISU struggles the most is when team grab, check and reach on them. It is suppose to be called a foul, but often it is not.

Love the posts that use missed shots as an excuse to it not being Prohm's fault. This is his team, if they are missing shots, it is his fault. No emotion, no change to the way we play. I jist hope the Alabama rumors are real.

Do you think him yelling and screaming will get is point across better? That is not who he is. He can call all the plays he wants but if the shots are not falling it is going to be a rough game.

1) Prohm could have done more. I like Prohm as our HC and support him, but c'mon man. Show us some emotion, some urgency. How do we expect the players to act poised when our HC is lost?

Showing emotion and urgency are signs of poise in your mind?

That spanned across at least 2 timeouts, so...
I do think Prohm needs to get more angry at bad plays like we had during that stretch. Guys were just out of control driving right into the teeth of the defense. Get mad, let the player know you're not happy, call a TO and sit him down. Gotta be more disciplinary in the moment.

Coach didn't draw up 15 empty positions in a row. If you make 6 points of those you win.

People really think he did. Tim Floyd would be embarrassed for the comment he made on how educated this fan base is.

I believe the politically correct term is morbidly obese.

lol @ morbidly obese. He's far from that. He's just a big dude at 6-8 270lbs. The vast majority of us aren't gifted with that sort of size. Doesn't look "morbidly obese" to me

Agreed. I think there is something positive when a coach shows composure and not letting calls dictate their attitude, but composure doesn’t always get the job done. Composure looks like weakness in pivotal moments, and too often, Prohm just standing there is infuriating. He needs to read the moment better and be willing to have emotion when it’s called. Other coaches have proven it can pay off.

Iowa State was unable to defend the post consistently. Wesson owned us inside. Jacobson did not play well. Thought Lard did okay offensively and sometimes okay defensively. THT played very poorly. Bad shots and bad decisions. Shayok and Wiggington kept us in the game. Couple of very bad calls.

THT definitely is not ready for the NBA. Wiggington should stay as well IMO.

We played good enough defense to win tonight. Only having 3 guys show up on the offensive end is why the season is done.
When I watch other tournament teams execute simple offensive plays, I realize just how little ISU has developed players this year. Honestly, this game looked like any first scrimmage of the season. Coach watching from the sideline, acting like he has no clue, about well just about anything. Players standing outside the 3 point circle. Disjointed.

He's not... Just having some fun. He is similar to niang but with more size. Highly skilled big man.

Shooting 30% isn't a recipe for winning (duh)

Officiating was not good. I can't blame them for anything with how poorly we shot, but things like Shayok's iffy out-of-bounds and the phantom kick were brutal on a night where we couldn't get any breaks.

Feel bad for Shayok. Kept us in the game, only to miss that front end. That was tough to watch.

All I can hope for is that our young guys like Tyrese and George don't forget about this. Hopefully those guys along with MJ, Lard, THT (he's not ready yet) come back with a vengeance next year. We'll see what Wiggy decides; having him back would be tremendous.

**** happens in the tournament unfortunately. But just a bad night overall.
