And With That Win, Fred Hoiberg....equals the amount of total wins Greg McDermott had at ISU, in over one less season.

Sorry I had to do it, but thought it was pretty interesting. Here's to many more years of success. I <3 Hoiberg.

McDermott had the decency to leave on his own. I appreciate that he did.

I wish there was a way to leave McDermott's negatives out of this, but it is a great stat. Congrats to Fred, and congrate to Greg for finding a better fit for him. Wish him the best. Once a cyclone always a cyclone. But Lovin the Hoiball. This is the most intense I've been about b-ball in years.

Also tied with 4 of the last 5 coaches, including Johnny, with 2 winning records in conference. It took Johnny 14 years. The fifth had zero BTW

I'm jealous of Greg McDermott. I've never seen someone get more mileage out of the "he's a nice guy" card.

I don't know why people think he was such a nice guy. He must not have been that great or that many players wouldn't have left. The only reason he is doing anything at Creighton is because of his son.

I truley believe that Fred will take us to heights we have never seen. His style will bring the kids in. How could you not want to run and gun? What is most uncanny is his ability to mold these kids who havn't played together that much into really nice teams. This is why I am confident next year as well I think we will surprise ourselves. Fred seems to have that ability to be flexible and to fit a sytem to his talent. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to slow it down next year and play D with the 3 ball as a reduced portion of the offense.

This was one reason why McDermott failed, he wasn't flexible and he couldn't seem to recruit the mid-level guys. Sure he had guys like Brackins, Garrett and Wes johnson but they played alongside of Sean Haluska/Dominque Buckley type mid major players that were liabilities. Bubu would school those guys.

Yes. Fred is some kind of coaching freak of nature. He just knows how to teach, lead, motivate, and mold teams. It's just phenomenal, because he should not be this good this early.

Except that he's Fred Hoiberg, and Fred never fails.

Hold on, let me check something...

...yep, three years later and McDermott still doesn't care what we think about him. He's happy at Creighton now. We're happy he's at Creighton now. We got Fred out of the deal. End of story.

Fans in Omaha want Doug to come back next year. Otherwise it may be a tough season.

With or without Doug it is going to be a tough season in the Big Priest next year. If Doug leaves they may not win a conference game.
