So one posts equals that conclusion. Got it.
Get with the 21st century grandpa....there are hundreds of posts, tweets, statuses, etc like this that show anger from hawk fans, which is freakin' hilarious. I also like the weak smack talk of unintelligent jokes about it.

I really don't get why they put this billboard up. They should have either saved their money or done something else because if it is supposed to be a dig at Iowa it fails because it is not a dig and if isn't supposed to be a dig then it fails as well because who really cares. Weird. That is all I have to say.

No, I think it has everything to do with the Hawkeyes. It screams "little brother" to me. I'm not a fan of advertising the little brother syndrome. I don't really care that much but since there's a thread...

+1, what a dumb idea

Yawn...the whole billboard thing seems to have run it's course. And I think trying to use bowlsby to get at Iowa fans is a pretty big reach, especially when we have been as dominate over them as we have been in athletics over the past few years. It just seems like there are other ways to go about it.

Why didn't they just have a bilboard with a picture and score of last years game. That would have been way better than this weird ash attempt. THe only way it would have made sense is if Bowlsby left Iowa for ISU. But leaving Iowa to go to Stanford then to go to Big 12 commissioner is not really sticking it to Iowa.

Your argument is horrible. They chose areas where a majority of the population has allegiances to other university's. If your main goal is to strengthen exposure, you use areas where the most people will see it, while still keeping it within Iowa. I need more then 2 hands to count the number of cities that would of made more sense then Cedar Falls.

I see more ISU stuff up here in Waterloo on cars than I tend to see Iowa stuff. There are a metric **** ton of ISU fans and alums up here, especially with the 4 John Deere plants in the area.

The largest metro area is Omaha-CB, where the vast majority of inhabitants live in Nebraska. I think it should be obvious why they didn't put one there. The 3rd largest is the quad cities, again border cities which probably have more allegiance to Chicago than they do to Iowa.

The locations are about strengthening our exposure within the State of Iowa, these are 3 prime locations to do so.

ive spent time in the quad cities in the past and its definitely not allied with chicago at all...iowa city is still less than an hour away from the illinois side of the qc after all

probably 80% iowa fans and some illinois and a few isu fans but nothing different than any other area in eastern iowa except maybe replacing illinois with wisconsin if you go further north

I don't mind it, but we could have been more clever.

I do like billboards in Eastern Iowa, the reaction from the Hawk Extremists is great.

On Iowa City, I don't like it. Too many fruit loops and smug Chicaginians there.

I love Jamie Pollard's sense of humor. This is hilarious. Assume he asked Bob before doing this and had his approval which is also funny.

It's all about creating exposure and seems to be working!

Maybe its not so much about upsetting hawk fans as some think, but more of a statement about the Big 12 being stable and in good hands and so is ISU. Although the reaction from some Iowa fans has been "classic" so far.

I love Cyclone billboards, especially in Eastern Iowa; and I love J.P.. However, I do not like this billboard. We would have been better served with a billboard of the football and/or MBB teams.

Go Cyclones!
