Looks like Castillo had a good time during his Mizzou visit. In regards to Forbes, I'll take whoever wants to be at ISU and work hard. Castillo would be a great get, but I'm confident CMC has a good eye in spotting talent no matter how many stars come with the kid. As it's been said-it's not necessarily that the Rhoads regime couldn't get decent athletes it's the player development that was more the issue.

Hope this doesn't mean we're not getting Castillo or the kid from Rhode Island.

Nothing against this kid at all, but everyone on here would be complaining like crazy if Rhoads got him. Everyone would say... "he's only a 2 star, with no other decent offers".

No issues taking players like this as it's obvious by his offer list he is skilled. But when CPR had classes filled with no offer kids on top of lack of coaching consistency and development then we got what we got...

Glad you'd rather have Castillo...I'm glad to have this kid. He is a work in progress and coaches have said that from the start. He plays mean, which is something ISU has been missing on the line for a while now.

I'll take a 2* with attitude and a chip on his shoulder any day and see what he becomes.

Honestly, Forbes reminds me of Omoile coming out of high school. Has a lot of work to do but serious potential. I like Castillo better and know the coaches want to use him at center, which is something we could definitely use.

I have seen some comments about lack of decent offers. 2 years ago we would have been happy that he had 2 other BCS conference offers(Cinci and USF) that would have been considered good offers. I also think offers from places like Temple and Toledo look pretty good. He has 15 FBS offers which are a lot more than the average 2 star we used to get.

Serious question here... At 6'3" is he tall enough for a tackle? Does he project as a guard or are we going after a different build now? As in road graders...

He's not a tackle here, and I wouldn't call 6'3" and 283 a "road grader" either. He's a left guard(or center if he can snap).

Centers and guards must be agile, mobile, and hostile when asked to pull on a regular basis.
