I was just curious if anybody heard weather he was going to stay or not. I havent heard anything so I assume he is going to see how spring ball turns out. Just wandering if anybody knew anything about how he was doin here.

After any coaching change there is always players staying and leaving. Bo came here to be a in power running offense. I Figured he was staying just wanted to know if anybody knew for sure that he was staying...So that would be the purpose of this thread. Just wanting to know if there was any news on him. Im really looking forward to seeing him next year

Yeah, I know after a coaching change there is always a chance of players leaving. I just thought Bo had already came to a conclusion of staying here. So, when this thread popped up, I thought I had missed something and that he was having second thoughts. I'm also excited to see him play in a live game!

While I realize we will be running a spread offense, Coach Herman has spoken about playing to our strengths in the few interviews I have seen with him. If Bo is as good as advertised, then I'm sure Herman will work him in. If you've ever seen West Virginia, or even Missouri (at times) play, you know that a good RB can have great success in a spread attack. I'm hoping (and expecting) that coach Herman will take an assessment of our current talent and will adjust accordingly.

I think we learned from Chiz (on defense) that sometimes you've gotta adjust your coaching to the talent you have. Our defense was especially bad last year because we were trying to run a Tampa 2 with Jesse Smith (a great LB, but not that in that system) as our MLB. Had Chiz slightly (not asking for a major change) adjusted, we would have been better off.

Hopefully Coach Herman will look at what we have and take advantage of it. If Bo is good, I'm sure he will have his opportunities.

This is a great thread... we've got people wandering what's going on and we've got people asking if you've talked to coach Harman.

I imagine Bo's decision to stay or go is probably bigger than him, too. Doesn't his sister live with him and attend Ames High? Not that moving while in HS is impossible, but I hear it's not much fun...

He won't see as much action with this type of offense. I see wheels686's point. But yes, he's probably staying.

Obviously you know nothing about football. A spread offense is a balanced offense with about 50/50 pass to run ratio. the purpose of the spread is to make the field as wide as possible and to get the ball into space where your athletes make defenders miss tackles. A good running back can do amazing things in the spread.

Wow someone that gets it.... amazing! Yup, a spread is just that.... It looks to optimize one on one matchups by spreading out the width, and depth, of the field. Bo will get plenty of chances... a power running back can be huge in a spread offense. I don't know why people have been saying that a spread doesn't utilize a power back. It sure can.
