So I'm selling my Galaxy Note 2 on ebay. There's about 15 hours left of the auction and the highest bidder has zero feedback and is from Tajikistan. I really don't want to get scammed. Any thoughts?

Don't accept paypal and make sure the $ in is your financial institution's accounts before you ship anything

Well, it's too late now (I think), but when you set up the auction you can specify that you'll only ship to certain countries.

Otherwise, I believe you can just pull the auction from ebay. Someone did this to me on an item I was bidding on. They decided not to sell I guess?

ebay basically only accepts paypal at this point. If he wins though I will make sure to withdraw the money from paypal to my bank before I send it. I've just heard horror stories of buyers saying they received an empty box, or "returning the item" which was actually their old broken one. I might just have to stick with craigslist.

I would pull the item and re-list. When you re-list it put down only ships to US or North America.

Paypal sides with buyers a lot more than the sellers from what I've seen in disputes. If I were you, I'd pray another bidder comes in the mix, preferably from the US :twitcy:

Like clonecones said I wouldnt ship until the buyer has paid.

I had this happen to me over the Christmas holiday when I sold my broken iPhone. I specifically stated in my listing that I wont sell to outside the country. Sure enough I started getting messages in broken english asking where the package was at. The shipping address was Long Island New York, but the guy buying and sending me the messages was from Yemen. Very bizarre. Luckily he did send the money. It was just a pain dealing with the language barrier and him not being familiar with how to use the USPS tracking system.

eBay can be tricky sometimes.

I usually stick to US sales only, & adding no returns can save any hassle associated with that.

I'm no expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...

Why not accept PayPal? I've never had a problem with PayPal, not even once, and I've sold over 300 items on ebay.

I agree with this. End the auction and relist specifying US buyers only.

Why all the Tajikistan hate? I've loved Tajikistan ever since I learned of it being an actual place about 5 minutes ago when I opened this thread.

I call shenanigans. Please scan us a copy of your receipt from Holiday Inn Express.

Ever sold anything to a person from Tajikistan? That's why I wouldn't accept paypal. Guy could easily open a dispute, get the item, and the cash and you're **** outta luck

If the item is as described and you have proof that you shipped it, how can he win a dispute?

Gotcha. I guess to me that's more of a Tajikistan thing than a PayPal thing. Which I totally agree with not shipping outside of the US.

Just was curious if somebody knew something about PayPal itself that I didn't, because I occasionally use it there and other places online.
