If they called every moving pick, games would take 4 hours and would be 2 on 2 by the middle of the second half. It's very rare that any screen isn't illegal in some way.

Also, Paul Janssen is a good official and all in all Janssen, Kimble, and Daily is a very solid crew. Making a mountain out of a mole hill here.

Hahaha, good one. They just all have a bad game the same night? Go out for drinks with Janssen back in the day? He was atrocious, completely pathetic.

If they called every moving pick, teams would realize they can't do it anymore. It's just like holding in football. Everyone uses the excuse, "They can't call it as often because it happens every play." A moving pick is the realization of a foul that's just not called that often, so, the 90% of the game you get away with it, pays off a lot more than not. The proglem I have with it, is as I've said a lot of times on this board, somehow, if you are a team like ISU and get known as a finesse team, you can't get away with this type of crap, but for some reason, a less talented offensive team, can declare themselves a physical team and they get away with shoving people around using obvious fouls. The game, plain and simple should be called straight up the same way every time. I don't care how you decide to do it, but find a way and go with it. That way everyone can have the same chance going into the game.

I hate even participating in "refs suck" threads but I won't let that stop me.

Two things:

(1) The guy who guarded Bryce in the first couple minutes of the game did about everything up to putting a "Sister Abigail" on him. The first call made involving them? Bryce for pushing off (known some places as "let go of me").

(2) Since we all watched on TV, FranF went through his usual ISU talking points, Hickory Park, Nerlens Noel, etc.

Multiple times FranF referenced Huggy getting rid of all the p*ssies who could shoot the ball and replacing them with "junkyard dogs". Nobody should be surprised by any of this.

I'm glad I wasn't the one attempting to ref that garbage, that would be my defense of the refs.

OK, I give. WTF is a "Sister Abigail"?
Is she related to Dirty Sanchez? Can she play a rusty trombone?

Actually Don Daily had the worst night of the three last night, was out of position a lot and really struggled as the baseline official, but hey the 'we think he's a Hawk' thing carries more weight than what happened on the floor.

I say that as a guy that dislikes Janssen's effort a lot. He does a lot of Big 12 and Valley games and I think he's behind the play a lot. His positioning was better last night, but a lot of that had to do with the other two shielding his injury and letting him be the center official all night.

I hadn't noticed the horrible inbounds because I was yelling about how McKat was hacked hard on the dunk with no call.

Both of us were yelling then. If that is not an "and 1", I don't know what is. I was so mad, my wife came and asked me what was wrong.
I said: "Oh, just the game"
She said: "You're ridiculous. It sounded like you got hurt or something".

The officiating is always bad with West Virginia in the game. That style drives me nuts b/c they know that the officials don't have the stones to call every foul. It is extremely annoying when you see ISU get called for the very weak fouls and the hand checks while teams like WV do it all game and never get called for the hand checking.

After finally watching the game, it was astonishing that Williams didn't foul out in the first 10 minutes of the game with all of the shoving and elbow throwing that he does. How do the officials not bother to call that?

If that's "hacked hard" then I can understand why you thought their were a million uncalled fouls. If they called every little contact like that a foul the game would take 4 hours and would have 10 players fouled out. At some point you have to just realize that basketball players will actually come in contact with one another and that if that contact doesn't actively prevent them from doing what they were doing then it's best if the refs didn't call it a foul.

Glad you pointed out "their" fans because you are not one yet post more garbage on this board than anyone. Yes, there is such a thing as home cooking. Just go to Lawrence and watch any game live. No team should be allowed to play with such discrepancy in physicallity. KU mauls other teams and gets every tictac play called in "their" favor. Same thing happened against WV last night. If an official allows a home crowd or who the team is affect their calls then this is **** poor officiating. Better teams bench players still pulled it off last night!!

Funny you mention that. Like I said before, I WAS at the game in Lawrence on Saturday and I did watch the officials call so many ticky tack fouls on Kansas that Texas Tech was in the double bonus with 9 minutes left in the first half. If I am not mistake, Texas TEch had Look, it is very clear that the ref crews all got notice that they were supposed to be calling it tighter to try to keep control of things. Do I find it a coincidence that there were multiple games with 40+ fouls a few hours after a huge brawl broke out in the CSU-Air Force game? Nope. The refs in virtually every game I watched or listened to on Saturday seemed very intent on keeping control of things with a heavy whistle.

So by your reasoning, the "and 1" plays should never occur because if they weren't hit hard hard enough to prevent the basket in the first place, then the foul doesn't really matter. Do you even read what you type before you hit submit?

The thing that gets me is when officials decide to call every touch foul on the perimeter or when a player drives but let's everyone maul each other in the paint.
