Anyone else struggling to get exited for the CyHawk game?

There we have it. Anything but a clear blow out is really a win for the Clones and if it is a blowout then well that was just expected so no big deal and Iowa just plays an easy schedule anyway. The expectations in one week have really went from sky high to lowest of lows.

Even with fans such as yourself and CyTwins I hope the Clones win every game after this Saturday. I really do. Hard for you two to fathom I know.

That's quite the interpretation. His post has everything to do with "tavernhok meltdown" and nothing to do with our expectations.

Yes my "sky high" expectation of a 3 win season went to a still astronomically sky high 2 wins after one week.

UNI is fielding one of its best teams in years. There are a lot of positives for ISU. The defensive line for ISU was better than it appeared at first. They were in the UNI backfield a fair amount-the UNI QB is very mobile and outran them. But they were there-not beat on the line.

Here's an interesting fact: (because I'm a nerd):
The linear correlation coefficient between ISU beating its MVFC opponent and beating The Sqwaks is -0.26. So The ISU loss last is predictive of a win this week.

Go Cyclones!

I'm not excited at all. Not really excited about playing the Hawks. Doesn't matter what happens the vermin known as Tavern Hawks will bluster their feathers and make life as bad as a political conversation. Big 12... Yes, I'll be excited.

On that happy note. Still not excited for this game. Clones are going to get stomped and the game will seem to never end. Sorry Gunnerclone, man I hope you're right but after Saturday nothing gives me any reason to think Cyclones go into Lawrence and walks away smiling. Much less San Jose in Ames next week.

Yes it is hard to believe some of these guys who come on here talk smack continuously and belittle everything about the 'Clones and then turn around and drop the "I root for the Cyclones the other games of the year." Not buying it.

I'm golfing and drinking all day and don't give a damn about the game. It's kind of nice not to care. If the game is close towards the end I'm sure my tune will change

I think it is disheartening we typically have to play Hawkeyes in back to back weeks most years to start off the season.

But we do still have to play the games, regardless.

This is a throw away year as far as I am concerned. I will just look forward to player development and any W's are a bonus. I didn't feel that way before game time last Saturday. But it is OK to adjust expectations on the fly!

I'm really bothered by this. Normally I'm pretty hyped for this game but this year I'm just not feeling it. Being currently in the Philippines probably doesn't help either as there's plenty here to take my mind off of the game. I'm just afraid this one is gonna be a blowout. Come on Clones, please prove me wrong on this one.
