25-38, 184 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT's isn't bad at all against one of the top defense in the country. Especially, considering it was his second ever start and in a super hostile environment. Dekkers has done a bang-up job thus far. He just has to tighten up in a few areas.

The one pick was also because the WR broke inside instead of out... That ball was a gift but it wasn't Hunter's fault.

KU seems to have a nice offense but their defense is bad and the teams they’ve played also have had bad defenses. They’re 100% heading in the right direction but we’ll see what happens when they play a team that doesn’t let them score at will.
KU started to show some signs of life last season. Even so, they still were blown out a number of times. The three worst games were against OSU, ISU, & Baylor. OSU had an outstanding defense last year and Baylor plays a defense that is similar to ours. I'll hold off on the hype until they win against a solid defense.

I still haven't seen this except for in the stadium. Live and on the video board it sure looked like he covered it and was down on top of it with possession only to have the defender strip it long after he was down on top of it.

How long they let things go after a fumble is one of my pet peeves. If a guy is down and has possession - especially in college when you don't have to be down by contact - blow the damned whistle and award the football instead of letting it become a free for all.
On the broadcast, it was pretty obvious he didn't have control of it. He was trying to corral it even if it looked like he was on top of it.

This.

I’ll give them credit for obvious improvement, but WVU’s defense is at best suspect, and Houston is dealing with all the issues related to having Holgorsen as it’s coach. Not going to pretend that either opponent was a major challenge.

(Edited to fix my stupid)

Houston has a new coach? Holgorsen was hired in 2019. What the hell is this, a three-year honeymoon?

I think it’s fair to say that Houston was severely overrated to start the year. Coming in the top 25, going 1-2 against the likes of UTSA, Tech (with a new coach), and KU (2nd year coach).

Hard to say, Dekker saying it was the receivers fault whether it was or wasn’t would be a bad sign. That’s how team chemistry gets screwed up.
Considering that’s not really what he said, you’re reading an awful lot into it.

And basically calling the young man a liar. I’m not down with that.

I watched the play, and I listened to Dekker say it was his fault. I give it about 91% chance that Dekker lied.
Another one calling our QB a liar. You guys SUCK.

Even more, that was a lot more of an explanation from him than just “that one was on me”. Which would make Hunter Dekkers a really BAD liar.
