Why do some players seem to regress over their time in our football program. Case in point - AJ Klein. I wasn't able to listen to the Missouri game today, but in the Baylor game they ran over him almost every time and did it with ease. There are other examples but that one sticks out to me. It goes across coaching staffs - see Todd Blythe, Brett Myers, Austin Arnaud, etc. Maybe it happens everywhere. Right now it's very striking on our defense where Jake Knott seems to be the only player that has improved every year.

AJ was one of our few outstanding players today. The dline looked like a sieve. The oline looked like a sieve. The defensive backs made a lot of tackles. We looked like a Bill Callahan Nebby defense.

No. It is a huge issue that the lines are not being developed. Mac could take a quick big guy get them that was looked over by other schools put some weight on them and make a good lineman out of them. ISU started a true Freshman Center today, not many 5 stat kids star on the line their freshman year and that should never happen at ISU. There is no depth on either side of the ball. Part of that is a product of not having the right players on campus when CPR took the job and he has to get those players out of the system, the proper way. Lets hope the young guys this staff has in the program now are the right guys.

My take would be that none of those guys were as good as you THINK they were. They probably came very close to playing as good as they possibly could.

We've got some big dudes in the state of Iowa. Let's bring in some of those farm boys and get them ready to kill!

Farniok is good, he beat out a juco (which everyone seems to think we should rely on in 1 sentence and bang on Jantz in the next). AJ Klein hasnt regressed he had a great game against Mizzou, set a record with a pick 6 I believe. We NEED a D-Line. Please David Irving and Quinton Pompey, PLEASE develop into Impact players to anchor the line in the next 3-4 years, give us something to build around.

i think we will be fine at D Line, just really really really raw and young. unfortunately that will not win us a lot of football games, it's a shame that David had to burn his redshirt this year, it also dones't really help that curt maggitt had to go down, i really tihnk next year we'll be pretty good with Maggitt, Irving, Pompey, and Nelson. others i am probably forgetting. feel free to fill in.

NEED MORE DEPTH AND SPEED THOUGH!

I think our oline will be oustanding with this redshirt freshman group and the 3 freshman that are being developed. This group is very athletic!!!!

I think with Willie Scott, David Irving & Quinton Pompey we will be much improved in the next 2 years on the D-line. I really hope I am right.

People who are making reccomendations on "We should do X" and "Why dont we try Y" and then make uninformed mistakes like saying a player is a true Frosh or mis-stating someones names really lose credibility (not that they had any anyway).

If you feel the need to critisize our coaching staff on players at least make the attempt to know how old a player is or what his name is.
