Are we better off with FH than GM?

At this point I think anyone would be better than Mac. ISU basketball was a sinking ship. I'd rather have a huge question mark than a proven failure

This. If for no other reason than Fred Hoiberg will sell tickets and create excitement and enthusiasm. But he is a huge question mark. As much as we all love and admire him, he has no coaching experience. Sorry fellow 'Clone fans, but I just can't get around that. And he's not automatically going to succeed just because he's Fred Hoiberg. That is one of the sillier sentiments I saw on here yesterday.

I refuse to believe that at this point in time, any serious Cyclone fan can actually honestly ask a question like in the thread title and not expect to be ridiculed. Mods....is it possible just to kill a thread for stupidity?

McDermott had lost this team, and it would be much harder to get it back than to move on, which he did.

Fred is a natural leader, and just has a presence about him. He will get the recruits, and I think he will relate well to the players and get them to play for him. The key is in good assistants, and I think he has the contacts to get some good ones.

Good job, past-Cyclonepride. Well done

Ironic that this post is bumped. GM and Creighton and FH with ISU in championship games at the same time. One wins and the other doesn't, and for once it is the right one for ISU fans. Still, with both in the games at the same time, at the same point in time in their programs, what are the odds? Go State!

When Creighton hired McDermot I about danced in the street. There has never been a bigger win-win in College BB history.

One of the best threads in CF history. Starting with 'Dana Altman might be leaving Creighton, anyone think they might take a look at Greg Mcdermott and get him off our hands?' and ending with it all somehow happening.
