Metta World Peace of Los Angeles Lakers suspended 7 games for elbow - ESPN Los Angeles

What a crock of ****. Three 7+ game suspensions over the course of his career. How many second chances does this idiot get?

Couldn't agree with ya more! I think it BS that he keeps getting on with new teams and gets all these chances. This guy is by far the dirtiest player in the NBA and wish he would be booted! This is one of many reasons why I can't stand the NBA and don't watch it.

That is a total crock of ****!

IMO, he should have been gone a MINIMUM of the rest of this year, and possibly booted out of the league for good.

What if Harden had been knocked out cold, then hit the floor and broke something and was out for the rest of the year for the OKC Thunder? I suppose then Artest would have gotten a stiffer punishment, but that would be BS IMO. You don't punish someone based off of what happened to the victim. You base it off of the action, and how bad it COULD have injured the other person.

If the Thunder end up playing the Lakers in the playoffs at some point, OKC should just send in someone at the end of their bench to just take Artest out in Game One. Seriously... who cares anymore? I'm sure OKC would be willing to get some unknown player thrown out for 7 games if Artest got injured enough to miss the series.

David Stern has no balls. Goodell would have come down really hard on a multiple repeat offender like Artest.

This basically takes him out of the first playoff series match up. Not enough. Needs a 10+ game suspension and seriously looked at getting booted from the league.

Seems bout right to me. If they did it lile hockey he would have got a 5 minute major in the penelty box. Followed by a dart throw to see what.number they hit to suspend him

Metta World Peace is my favorite player in the NBA. No joke.

Not that I like when he gets physical like that, but I love the passion he has for everything he does.

The suspension is worse than I expected, but it is deserving.

This is only his 2nd 7+ game suspension for an on court incidence.. His first was for the brawl and that was a season long ban. His other 7 game suspension was for an off the court criminal charge.

7 games seems just about right for this incident.

He should be out for the entire playoffs. Two of the games are regular season games that he might of sat out anyway. The elbow was near the temple which if it correctly can kill someone.

Seven games sounds about right, it was a cheap shot but Harden wasn't a completely innocent victim. He was there to bump into Artest on purpose. He just picked the wrong guy to try to instigate things with.

Actually its Metta World Peace's first suspension. The last suspension was on the artist formally known as Ron Artest. He was reborn I thought. :jimlad:

What a stupid ******* name.

That elbow was a 25 game suspension. No less. Period. pathetic that the NBA can't crackdown like NFL or NHL can on BS that doesn't belong in sports like this.

I agree it doesn't belong in the game but I will never understand why fighting is accepted in hockey. It's cool to watch but there is no logical reason it should be allowed.Fighting gets u 5 mins in the box in the NHL and 5-10 games in any other sport, minimum.

I'm an OKC fan, and I think it's about right. The previous longest suspension for throwing an elbow had only been 2 games, so I don't think they could've gone much longer. One regular season and 6 playoff games is pretty hefty.
